Here is a good way to determine popular opinion; a poll. I see many people here that are thrilled with the change and a few that aren't. Rather than go back and forth let's make it semi-scientific and see where the wind blows with this.

Sorry, but there are too many variables for your scientific poll.

For adults only with the QSDP, it's going to be very difficult to make the plan work for the money you spend. Your two snacks will have to be at least $5 and your two entrees will have to be $13 or more. And that's EVERY snack and entree or you lose money.

For families with kids, they're probably still going to save some money. The kids get two snacks per night now too, so that's an extra snack for them since their meals come with a dessert. Plus you can use the kid's credits for adult meals which is an even greater value.

If you're on the regular DDP, it's probably a pretty good deal too. You still get dessert with your TS, so that extra snack instead of dessert for QS is a good thing.

The other variable we don't know yet is what kind of swap, if any, you can do with leftover QS credits. Will you still get 3 snacks or only get 2 snacks? If it's only 2, that's a horrible value!

Its great adding flexibility for the regular DDP. But you still need higher priced entrees (or buffets) to make it work. 2x snacks= $10, QS meal ($3.50 drink $12-16 entree)= $15-19, means the TS meal ($3.50 drink $6 dessert) must have a $29-33 entree to make the plan break even.

But it is harder to get the value on the QSDP. 2x $10 snacks leaves $34 on two QS meals, so with $3.50 for drinks that means every entree needs to be over $13.50 just to break even.

The quick service plan is not a good "value," period.
Exactly this.

I haven't bothered looking at the 2017 pricing, but just using the 2016 pricing as benchmark, it's $44 for two QS meals (entree, drink, snack item) and one snack.

With the average snack being $3-5, the question is if a grown-up can do a QS meal for an average of $15-20, even including that extra dessert/snack that is gone next year. The answer is almost universally yes, with a few key exception cases this year (Flame Tree and BOG are the majors; it's possible to exceed $19 elsewhere but it take work many places).

So, next year, it's two entrees, two drinks, and two snacks. Entree+drink most places can be done for less than $15. Two snacks is $10. That's $40.

I doubt the cost of QSDP went down for 2017. Too lazy to bother looking because seriously.

It never has paid for the two of us so we have never done the plan. Did the math and its cheaper to pay as we go. We share meals many times, don't eat dessert at lunch, and usually not at dinner. Mostly drink water and might have one or two snacks a day, not always. Out biggest expense when it is hot, is water. Can't deal with the water fountain taste so it's bottled all the way or a cup at a restaurant.

Not only did it not go down, it didn't even stay the same. Adult price is now $46.34 and kid price is $20.18.
Didn't think it would. That's most of why I failed to bother even looking.

If it wasn't a good deal at last year's pricing, it was probably not going to be a good deal at next years. :tilt:
