Is that guy in Indiana Jones a stand-in?

No not the guy that does the stunts:D
But the guy who has to die on command?
I have seen this show a several times, but I don't really believe there are such strange people in the audience.
Who knows?

I'm pretty sure he isn't really an audience member. Correct me if I'm wrong though, anybody.

Ali

I have seen this show 3 times and all these times it was a different guy. But they all acted so strange that I started thinking that they were castmembers:D

WARNING!! SPOILER AHEAD! DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN THE SHOW!

Isn't the guy who has to die on command the same guy they "out" at the end of the show as a cast member....? (it could still be different cast members each time you have seen it)

I pretty much knew the one I saw was a ringer right away for several reasons, mostly because of the awesome muscles he had....LOL. He was pretty fit for your average audience member. I just can't remember if he was the guy who had to "die" though. I think he was.

Thanks for the answer Chamonix.
But that isn't the guy I mean, there are two different guys:D
They ask audiencemembers to join the cast and the one I am wondering about is the guy who has to act a deathscene.

SPOILER WARNING!

There is always one ringer in the crew they pick from the audience. It's not always the same person, but you can always tell who it is because the clothing that person will be wearing will be REALLY loud-colored. The normal schtick is also to have that person be comically dense about following the directions.

That is the same guy who chamonix is talking about. One of the "audience volunteers" has to act out a death scene. Same guy has to take fake punches with the woman. In the end they say he's really a cast member. Oh - and he was wearing a very bright shirt. :D Just saw the show again a little over a week ago.

Yes, the ringer they choose from the audience also has to do one of the things "on command". I asked dh and he thought the ringer that we saw had to balance on one foot or something--so maybe he isn't the die on command guy. (if dh is remembering correctly, who knows?)

Fromeurope, do you mean you saw one guy who died, but he definitely wasn't the one who was the end of show ringer-?

Even if so, I would say there are not two ringers, there is only the one in the loud shirt as notursula and disneywithdrawal mentioned. Anyone else is a regular audience member.

SPOILERS AHEAD

:D This is starting to get confusing!
Unless they changed the show recently the guy with the brightcolored pink shirt is not the guy I am referring to.
After the show the cm tells the audience that this guy really was a castmember.
But I didn't start this thread to spoil anything:(
I mean that there are about 8 people from the audience that are asked on stage. One of them is the guy with the pink shirt that has to fight with the lady in red.
But there is also another guy, an extremely goofy one that has to act that he dies on stage. And he does that a very weird way.
And I have seen this show 3 times, last time in September, and now I really wanted to know if that guy is a cm as well:D
Just like the pinkshirted stuntguy....

SPOILERS CONTINUED...

When I just saw the show this was all the same guy. Maybe sometimes they have more than one? It was too long ago when I saw it before this last time so I don't have a comparison. And this same guy also had to stand on one foot.

OK, so let me get this straight, fromeurope:

You've seen the show numerous times, and are *sure* that someone other than the stuntman/ringer was asked to do the dying sequence....? If so, it was a regular audience member. I guess even regular guys can die weird too! LOL

Don't worry about the spoilers--everyone was duly warned before they read the posts--no worries! (besides, as I said, I pretty much knew he was a ringer the whole time anyway--I mean, c'mon--it's pretty common to do schtick like throw in a ringer whenever you see "audience" members called onstage.)

At the moment they must have changed the show, otherwise more people knew where I was talking about:D
Only the first replier noticed the same, or maybe he/she was referring to the stuntguy as well.
I am going again in a few months, so Indiana Jones here I come.

We saw the show at the beginning of this month and the guy in the loud shirt who did the fight scene with the girl and was outed as a CM at the end of the show was definitely a different person from the man who acted out the death scene.

Nobody said he was a CM at the end of the show, but I did wonder because it was so funny when he said that the producer who was shooting him had missed

Don't forget that they are taken backstage, probably to get a few 'hints' about what to do - they could be screening for the wierdest/funniest person to give that part to, and then giving him a few one-liners, and sight gags to perform.

When we saw it, there was a CM who acted out the fighting scenes etc. who was "outed" at the end of the show, and there was an audience member who acted out a dying scene. We were under the impression he was just a normal guest, not a CM, who got some helpful hints?!

When I saw it the same guy did all of that so maybe they use the CM if none of the real volunteers stand out.

We just saw this show a little over a week ago, and the "ringer" and the "death scene guy" were two separate people.

The "ringer" (the audience volunteer in a brightly colored shirt who is asked to stand on one foot) is an actual CM stuntman and I believe the "death scene guy" is just an audience member - we saw him again later that night with his family in tow at one of the attractions.

Aloha!

Isn't dropping dead or playing dead an easy act to do?

For you aspiring actors, remember that the name of the game is being able to imitate and perform any movement or action. Really complex movements may be reserved for those who have done gymnastics. Only after you are somewhat well known do you get to choose your roles.

He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis. I have been an extra in Indy, and nope they don't coach you at all. Basically they tell you to be careful and stick with the Castmember who is in charge of the extras. Plus the death scene stuff is before they take you offstage to get in costume.
