Hi there fellow Disers!
I am a HUGE chicken when it comes to rides.....I know nothing bad will happen (except maybe my lunch re appearing!) but it has taken me 3 trips just to go on Splash mountain (which kind of terrified me....but I may do it again:) I havn't yet been game enough to go on TOT, BTM, space mtn, test track, star tours or everest. We come all the way from Australia to WDW and I would LOVE to be brave enough to try all of these. This upcoming trip (Oct) I am definately going to try to do test track. Is it scary compared to splash? (By the way we did dinosaur and LOVED it)! Any tips on trying to become braver and ride the 'scary' (to me) rides? I keep watching them on youtube and thinking they don't look too bad:laughing: My other prob is my twin and trying to convince her to ride them with me (she was scared to go on dumbo first trip!!!!!) Got her on Splash and she says never again:scared1: Any help would be appreciated....I know I am a BIG chicken!!!

I am also a chicken! I was scared to death of test track until I went on it the first time. Wonderful, fun, exhilarating!!! Try it-you'll like it. The majority of the ride is a few bumps, quick stops, and sudden turns. The best part is going around the track with your hair in the wind and your arms up. Compared to Splash I would say Test Track is much more exciting while still being fun. Go ahead = try it:)

My DD6 is kind of a wimp on rides - she liked BTMRR but didn't want to go again - and she LOVED test track! We rode twice - she especially liked the fast part at the end. (That doesn't bode well for her teen years!) She didn't like the "braking" part because she was in the middle seat with a lap belt - no shoulder belt - so the second time I made sure to put my arm across her chest so she wouldn't whip forward as much.

I am not a fan of scary rides. I scream going down the little hill in POC. I will probably never go on TOT. Test Track and Star Tours won't be a problem for you - they are my favorites. If you can do Splash mountain and Dinosaur you can do BTM and Everest.

Ok.....41yo wimp here!!

I do not do scary rides (except I tried Dinosaur & will ride that one every time). On the other hand, I don't do rides like SM, BTMR, etc. no way!

This past Christmas, I did get on Test Track because I THOUGHT all we did was get in a car & drive around on the GROUND. Well, that is not the case & I won't be doing that again. I screamed the entire time. :sad2: Sorry, I'm a ride wimp.

Ok.....41yo wimp here!!

Add seven years! 48YO ride chicken here!

I did TT once, and unfortunately, the ride broke down like three times while I was in line. Each time, I got more nervous, so by the time I got in the car, I was freaking out. But the ride wasn't really that scary. I made the mistake of putting my head down (looking at my lap) and when the car took off around the track I didn't look up. Bad idea.

I plan on doing TT again this year, because I love to go on rides with the fam - and you'll never get me on the drop-type rides that they love (ToT, RR, Splash, etc.).

BTW - Dinosaur is one of my favorties! Go figure.

Thanks for your replys!! I will definately try test track and star tours.....VERY VERY unsure if I will be able to handle everest!! Some people say its fine and others say no way! So who do I listen to? hehehe:) I will also try BTM and mayyyybee space mtn (when I go across to DL) as I think it is down in WDW in Oct. I tend to get a bit of motion sickness, but can take something for that.....I would absoutely love to be the kind of person who could go one everest.....hope I can pluck up some courage!!!:yay:

For those who say they will never go on Twilight Zone because of the drop, there is a way you can do this one without the drop. As long as you can stand to be in a darkened library and watch a TV clip of Rod Serling and then go into a kind of spooky basement.

Just go on with the rest of your family and when you get to the seater (you will watch the preshow in the library and then go through the boiler room), just say you want to leave. You will be escorted over to the Express Elevator and taken to the exit of the ride. There's a nice waiting area there and you will see your family come right off the ride. Wait time is about ten minutes.

I can't do the drop anymore but I still love Twilight Zone. What you see before the drop is the best part in my opinion.

Our family LOVED Test Track! DD7 is sort of a whimp - she HATED TOT and EE! She LOVED Test Track. I think we rode it a total of 5 times throughout our weeklong stay at Disney. It is NOT up and down or dropping, but a fun experience.

FYI - She and I both LOVED Soarin' as well.

Enjoy your trip!

I know a few people who are too chicken to ride Splash and TT is one of their favorites. It's a chicken's thrill ride!!

I was petrified of Test Track until I rode it. It is fun and very mild.
However, my Mom was terrified of it and was shaking when she got off. She calls it a roller coaster:rotfl2: :rotfl2: !
There are no sudden drops, there are no real hard sharp turns. Try it, you'll like it!

My DD 6 loves TT....I promised her I would go next time:rolleyes1

I too am a chicken (just finally went on Splash and Space Mountains on my last trip after 7+ trips as an adult) and I love test track! I won't be going on EE anytime soon though! :scared1: Go luck!

You should absolutely try Test Track. I like Splash Mountain because of the music, theming, and I love water rides, but I hate the drop at the end (I do not like any rides that "drop" my stomach). Everytime I ride Splash, I'm so worried about the drop at the end that I forget to look around at all of the cute little scenes inside the ride. And, I refuse to ride ToT for obvious reasons. But, Test Track really isn't scary at all in my opinion. There's a point where you go pretty fast (but no drops or going upside down or anything like that). And, there's a point where you make an abrupt stop. Those are really the "scariest" things and they aren't scary at all. So, ride it. Don't worry; I bet once you get off, you'll think, "What was I so worried about?" :rotfl:

I like scary rides, so I thought test track was a major disappointment and way to mild/boring. It was the longest I waited for a ride that trip, and I don't think I am even going to bother with it next time. Its like driving on the highway without the danger.

DW was scared on BTMRR but enjoyed Test Track. I was scared on Soarin but loved Test Track, all the roller coasters, ToT, etc. I know Im strange.:rotfl2:

Test Track and Star Tours are very mild rides. My 65 year old grandpop got on them and loved it. Test Track is very exciting. Star Tours, to me, is actually kinda boring. You basically move back and forth, like on a boat, and watch a movie at the same time. Expedition Everest is a totally different story. Drops, tight curves, heights, and dark areas decribes it pretty well. I love it, but for people who are scared of Test Track or Star Tours, I would not get on EE.
