Is T-Rex noisy like the Rainforest Cafe?

I would really love to eat at T-Rex when we go in June. Do the dinosaurs make noise like the gorillas etc do in the Rainforest Cafe?
We will be taking my grand-daughter who will be 14 months old. and my son is worried that the noise might be too much for her.

I thought it was really noisy. It wasn't anything that I can pinpoint, such as the dinosaurs, but the combination of all of the features (dinosaurs, meteor shower, etc.) plus all of the people (and we were there at 11:30am for lunch and it wasn't close to full) and I found myself talking louder than normal to be heard and had a hard time hearing people across the table from me. I won't dine there again till DD is older, she was 2 mos when we went. I find it too loud for my liking and the food not good enough to put up with it. But I know when she's older she's going to think the theme is really cool so we'll suck it up :)

We haven't been to Rainforest since Oct 07, but I remember thinking that T-Rex was louder than Rainforest.

It is about 5X louder than RFC. You have to yell across the table to hear each other. If he thinks his daughter could have a problem with the noise, she probably will.

I went about 3 months ago, and I do remember being just as loud as rainforest if not louder. But that's also because of how packed it was, and the dinos along with the roar of all those people trying to talk over one another can definitely create a few decibels. Your son will be the best judge of what your GD will tolerate. It is a lot of fun, however, but at that age she'll never remember it.

T-Rex is fantastic for decor and ambience but the noise factor and crowd is unreal. Food is okay but I'm glad I went but don't think I will be dining again.
For a tiny one you may want to re-think.

Thank you all for your replies. Based on what you have all said I think I'll cross it off my list for this visit and go when I take my solo trip in December.

I was there in February...it was definitely loud. Instead of investing in a sit down dinner there, why don't you stop by the bar area (you can view the restaurant from there, easily) and grap a drink (we saw small families there) and check out the gift shop and build a dino? You will get a nice sampling of what it's like. The gift shop is not dark and scary at all. It is definitely cool to see!

we just 'popped in' to take a look around, the gift shop is right in front of the rest of the restaurant, so you can see quite a bit. There is NO WAY I could have eaten in there--much much louder than the Rainforest.

We loved it! We ate very light. My husband and I had excellent salads (the omnivore salad or something - candied pecans and good stuff on top!), my daughter had an amazing nacho platter and DS had a kids meal pizza I think. IT was great!

But is it good?

We had dinner there on SuperBowl Sunday. My Nachos appetizer was very good....but took about 45 minutes to arrive. We had a great time though, and will be returning this summer!

Thanks! I love nachos so that's what I'll be having.

If you go to eat during a slow time, it is not so loud. We went to eat there around 4pm with no reservation and walked right in. The whole back of the restaurant was completely empty. My two kids (2, and 11 months) were fine once we got into the ice room (my 2 year old was very scared but we sat in the ice room where there are no dinos) We didn't have to yell across the table or anything but then again, it was nearly empty.

We also sat in the ice room and didn't find it loud.
