For anyone who has gone to this was it worth the extra money ? Pros and Cons? I know there are no seats to sit on but was the view and desserts good ?

I can tell you that we watched the Star Wars fireworks three times (in three different locations) in Feb. without the need of the Dessert Party.

(And, I did walk by the party area on two of the nights before the show, just to see what was going on.)

I'm glad I did it once, but I wouldn't do it again.

What I liked about it - There was more than just dessert. I'm pretty sure we ate more fruit and cheese than anything else.

What I didn't like about it - well, it's kinda pricy for what it is. I was there over Presidents Day weekend and it was crowded - I think it was one of the few sold out parties. It wasn't hard to get around or anything, but there were a lot of people (and it seemed some people having trouble finding a table).

The "only you can decide part" - my son was exhausted and we ended up sitting near the front of the rope and watching the dance party (which is no longer happening). He actually fell asleep on my lap for awhile. The view of the fireworks was GREAT!! They keep an aisle right in front of the dessert party for walking so that no one stands in front of you and we were able to stay sitting on the ground to watch the fireworks which I don't know if we would've been able to do other places (it seemed like the other people I saw were standing though I don't know if that was by choice or because they were made to stand). The desserts were just "meh" in my opinion. There was a bread pudding thing that was delicious. Most everything else I took a small bite of and then was finished (I'm not a huge chocolate person for example though so I may not be the best judge of desserts).

Like I said, I'm glad I did it, but I wouldn't do it again.

Did you think it was located in a spot that had a good view of the fireworks?

Thank you for the review. We have done the Wishes dessert party and i was not thrilled with the side view and the desserts were just ok. If the view is really good we may do it.

Ok....so as long as you're on the main drag in HS, you'll have an amazing view of the fireworks. We just stood and watched. It's freaking AMAZING! I don't even like Star Wars all that much and I was like, mega impressed with those fireworks. I say no to the dessert party. You don't get a better view or anything. Enjoy!

My family loved it. The view is amazing... Although you could easily get an equal view without attending the party. We loved sampling all the Star Wars goodies and trying all the adult beverages without having to purchase each thing. It just felt fun and special - we joked that for once we were the ones INSIDE the rope. Lol. I'm so glad we did it and would make the same choice again, although I don't think I'd go a second time.

Yes.
But, there are so many good places to see the fireworks.
That's why I was at three different spots on three different nights.

The show is HUGE is scope!

We were there recently and stood in central area right next to the Dessert Party entrance, and I felt like our viewing was even better as there are some trees in the area that could block fireworks from a side angle. Not worth the $$$ paid to eat a few desserts IMO and still have to 'stand'!!

I don't like Star Wars, but I recently treated my cousin and his wife to the Dessert Party over Princess Half Weekend ... and I thought it was WELL worth the money I spent.

You get food and drinks starting an hour before fireworks and then 20 minutes afterwards. The food was not just dessert - the savory items (veggie-cheese skewers, hummus, pesto toast, etc.) were great. The dry-ice Nutella sundae was amazing. I love the unlimited cocktails AND the coffee bar for lattes and other drinks.

The viewing point was awesome, because I feel like the fireworks show is "aggressive" - it's very much in your face, and the closest you can get to the stage in front of the GMR theatre means the best view possible.

You also get a really nice Chewbacca "stein" as a parting gift. My cousin and his wife LOVED this. I gave mine away to some kiddo as I was walking down the pathway to EPCOT.

I would do it again because the view of the fireworks was that great, and the snacks and cocktails just made it better.

To bad they do not have chairs . That would make it even better.

We just went this weekend, and we enjoyed it. I think we might do it again at some point, but you do not need the party viewing to get a good view of the fireworks, which are amazing! The drinks were okay. We liked the one with rum much better than the others. The lines for some things were kind of long at the beginning as people were getting settled, but then it was totally manageable. The Nutella stuff was good and the savory items were delicious! This is probably my favorite picture from the show.

I also like this one:

We loved it. Is it worth it? I'd put it this way: if you want to do a dessert party and are trying to decide which one, I feel like this is the best choice. But if you're on the fence about whether a dessert party is worth it period, there are plenty of good places to view the show without paying the extra.

We liked the fact that there was a mix of sweet and savory items. There was also a very good variety of desserts, and the nitro station was fun to watch (although I didn't really think the end product tasted that great-one of my least favorites, lol!). Yes, you are standing, but you are free to go in and out (wristband), so we went out a few times and found a bench because DS wanted to sit for a bit. Also, if you drink alcohol, there are some fun speciality drinks. As another poster mentioned, some are better than others, but we found that the bartenders poured pretty heavy if that's your thing. The Chewy stein is cute, but I'd be shocked if you aren't able to pick up something similar in the bargain bin at Target at some point in the near future.

I actually can see myself paying to do this again. That said, while the view is good, it's very 'near'...I'd like to see what the show looks like standing a bit farther away.

Is there a particular spot that you would recommend?

We saw the show last week. Stood half way up Main St and the view was excellent. The show is very short.

The show is very short.

The run-time of the current Star Wars fireworks show is just under 9 minutes, which is just 3 minutes shorter than Wishes.

I would agree with others in the thread - If you are looking to spend the money and attend one of the fireworks dessert parties, this is the one to go to. One of the best fireworks shows Disney has put on in years, and it's going to be changing/ending in a few months. However, if you're not a massive Star Wars fan, or if you're not in the mood to stand up for an hour or so, I would say to pass on it. My mom and I did it on premier night, and it was incredible. But just like anything at Disney, while the cost is worth it to some, others will find it a waste of time/money.
