Is Spring Break Bad?

Is it super crowded in March for spring break? Our school doesn't have spring break till April but I plan on going on a last minute trip March 19th -24th.

The weeks bracketing Easter weekend are horrendously crowded, but the rest of the season not so much.

UG crowd level calendar puts your dates as mostly 6s. You are close enough to see their calendar for free on their website.:thumbsup2

I saw that! If only it were not so expensive to go during spring break. I checked out rates and plane tickets yesterday and they were so much higher than going first week of June. But first week of June looks to be PACKED and HOT!

I went last year the week after Easter and it wasn't that bad. I'm a teacher, so my choices are Christmas, Spring Break or summer (which I would never do). Some rides had really long wait times but I never felt that the crowds were unbearable.

We visit my parents in southwest Florida for Spring Break. Our break is always the first week of April. What I have learned is that some schools schedule around Easter. When Easter falls in our Spring Break, it is crowded in Florida. When Easter does not fall in my Spring Break, it is not too bad.

Actually, the free calendar only goes through 3/7. Unless I'm missing something.

We are going March 21-28...I think it is going to be pretty crowded. I cannot get the ADRs I like or the times---plus with easter being so late this year, I think schools have scattered spring break through out March and April. So with this in mind, hopefully it will not be as bad as Easter.

I sure hope not bc I'll be there then! But if it is, at least it won't be too crowded and too hot, like in the summer!

we are going april 1st to the 8th. My son's last day of school before spring break is April 3rd. I am pulling him out early so we can try to beat some of the heavy crowds. My friends children have their breaks the 2 weeks prior so I dunno seems like a coin toss.

You might be okay. Going the week before or after Easter is a NIGHTMARE. I am speaking as a person who was in the Magic Kingdom when the year 1999 became the year 2000-the crowds at Easter time are the worst thing ever.

It is usually quite busy.Spring breaks are not just local school systems, but the college and university crowd too.Keep your eyes on the UG calendar since they have been jacking up their forecasted numbers .Presidents week was originally not so bad and now it is up up up.

You're right. I don't know what I was thinking.:confused3

However, I can see that for the OP's dates, I could see that they were all 6s, with one 5 and one 7!

now I feel dumb :confused3 where is this calendar? I know the one on disney.com that tells you the park hrs and magic hrs.

- opps I googled it seems i need the UF book. I have one but it's a few years old.

It is very crowed, but that is the only time we can go (husband is teacher/coach), so it's that or middle of August, no thanks! Learn how to use the fastpasses and get them early and you'll be fine.

Have fun

The week before and the week after Easter are the most crowded Spring Break weeks, Easter is 4/12 this year, you should be okay, crowded but not unbearable!
