Do the resorts offer airline check-in with Southwest Airlines now? Last time we were there in 2006 they did not, and I'm curious if they do now.

Trying to decide on Southwest or AirTran. AirTran is offered, correct?

southwest is not on there yet. I believe they have been talking with Disney about it though.
I would ask about this on the transportation forum as they might no more.

They weren't on the list as of September. My immediate family and I flew American and loved being able to check everything in before we went to the parks for a few hours. My inlaws went along with us on this trip and INSISTED on flying Southwest because it was cheaper, easier, etc. Well, I tried to tell them that it wasn't, but what do I know? Let's see.....it was cheaper on American, it was easier with resort check-in with American, the new seat choice thing on SW is ridiculous. I could go on and on.... Hopefully Southwest will get better again overall & work it out with Disney - they used to be my favorite airline.:confused3

I love the new seating. No lines of people sitting on the floor for an hour in the airport anymore.

Upon checkin, you get a boarding pass with your letter group (A,B,C) and a number (assigned in order of check-in). At boarding, each group is called to line up and board in numerical order (not strict - they don't check to see that A-33 is directly behind A-32).

Boarding is now conducted in this order - disabled plus blue sleeve boarders (medical or special needs), the A boarding pass group, families with children under age 5 (child, parents and siblings only - but on flights with lots of families they might restrict to the child plus one adult), B boarding pass group, C boarding pass group.

Last November we used Beach Club concierge to call Southwest and check us in 12 hours in advance. They printed off our boarding passes too.

We will be back again in April but not concierge and not BC (BWI)..wonder if that will make a difference??

Love Southwest and the new check in procedure:love:

Any of the resorts concierge desks (at the front desk not concierge longe) will print your Southwest boarding passes. I've done it at POFQ & POP. You can do it 24 hours ahead.

The OP was not referring to a resort printing boarding passes for Guests. All of the resorts as well as Guest Services in each of the parks will do that. They were referring to,in addition to obtaining boarding passes at your resort, also being able to check your luggage at your resort.Southwest does not allow you to do this because of their concerns that the sheer volume of luggage involved would overwhelm the system. There is some speculation that Southwest and Disney are close to an agreement however.:)

Well, that and the fact that SW refusal to participate with other airlines. While I love their fares, their lack of co-operation with other airlines is aggravating to air travelers.
