Is something happening in September?

I'm looking for a hotel near the maingate for the last week in september, and I'm a little baffled because most of them are already sold out. Is there something going on in town that week that would fill up all the hotels? According to isitpacked.com, it's supposed to be a "ghost town" at the parks that week. So I really don't know what's going on here.....

September 25 is the start of the Halloween parties, with two being that week (Wednesday the 30th and Friday the 2nd) and is also the week leading up to Gay Days weekend (starts Friday October 2). Could just be the combo of those two things is drawing folks to the park...myself included! I'll be there September 28-October 3.

Also, if you're looking around the weekend of 9/18, that weekend is Dapper Days.

We're going for Dapper Days and I was just looking at Touring Plans and they are showing the hours for 9/17 as Disneyland closing at 5:00 pm that day. Would Disneyland close early that day in preparation for Dapper Days?

That's strange, I have no clue. I hope it changes as the official schedule comes out. I don't get in until 3:00 that day and was hoping to hit the parks that night for awhile.

I hope it changes too. I can't help but wonder if it comes from last years schedule and they are projecting from that.

Yes that's coming from last year's schedule. It's looking like the 5pm closing will happen on the 10th.

Fairfield, camelot, del sol, ramada maingate, anaheim plaza, castle inn all show availability for your dates to me. Also, all disney hotels are available, paradise pier for not a horrible price. disneyland hotel is insane though.

Dapper Day is an independent event like a convention, so Disney would have no reason to do any preparation for it in the park. I wouldn't trust touringplans. They don't know anything more than last year.

Park Vue Inn has rooms available and it is right across the street and awesome breakfast

Fairfield, camelot, del sol, ramada maingate, anaheim plaza, castle inn all show availability for your dates to me. Also, all disney hotels are available, paradise pier for not a horrible price. disneyland hotel is insane though.

That's strange. I did look at some of those places and they all said the rooms were not available. I'll have another look. Right now, though, I am leaning toward Park Vue. I stayed there once before and thought it was good. But looks like my "solo" trip may have a few people joining, so need to get their input as well.
