Is Something Fishy going on with ADRs?

Over the weekend, I hit our 90 window to start making ADRs for our Dec. 2-10 trip. (I had to remind the CM that I could actually book past 90 days out since I had a resort reservation.)

I was suprised the difficulty I was having at getting reservations. I couldn't get CRT for b-fast - all booked, every day our, entire stay (which would have been 90-98 days out). I got The Storybook b-fast, but only had two times I could choose from. I got LeCellier, but we had to split our party, and still only had two times to choose from.

I feel sorry for anyone off-site (or locals), I don't see how they can ever get into a popular restaurant.

After I hung up, I started to wonder, are people booking rooms 100 days out from the day they want an ADR at CRT or LeCellier just so they can book the resaurant, then they modify their resort reservation later to the dates they really were planning to stay? Is this even possible? Or do only those staying on site for 10 days or more get an ADR at CRT?

I was pretty dissapointed in the ADR selections during this slow time of year, something seems fishy...

I'm going to be a first-timer, so I can't compare to what it used to be.

But, when I called on the 90 day mark to make my ADRs, most of them were booked.

I called back at the 60 day mark, and there were more openings. :confused3 I got Le Cellier for 2, which previously wasn't available. Maybe a lot of people cancel after the 90 day mark, or they open more ADRs?

We're going 11/24-12/3, I called at my 90+10 mark and got everything we wanted for the time we wanted for a party of 10

I am also going to be there starting on the 2nd!! I didn't know you could book ahead of time if you have a resort reservation. I am currently booking things day by day.

I am not suprised that you did not get CRT for breakfast. It is nearly impossible to get, even when you wake up at 7am ET and start calling immediately. There are entire chapters in books written about this.

I have so far been able to get the reservations I wanted, although some of the time choices have been limited. La Cellier and CRT are very popular, so this may explain your problem.

I was a first time ADRer Aug 21 for our Nov 19-25 WDW trip. I called a little late, didn't want CRT, and got all but one of my first choice restaurants. The one I didn't get was LTT for Thanksgiving, but I made it a different day. I have since called back to add a lunch ADR with no problem. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to add Fantasmic dining. It is understandable that I haven't been successful my first few tries. However, I call each day.

Hope it works out. Those dates shouldn't be too crowded I would think.

I was unable to get CRT at 90+10 but was able to get it at 90 days exactly. They told me that the open up more reservatins on the 90 day mark and only a limited number are available to the 90 + 10, so keep trying for your days right on the 90 day mark, at exactly 7am EST.

I called at my 90 day mark. We are staying at the AK and I asked to make a reservation the day after we arrive. The CM told me I couldn't do that and I would have to call back the next day. I DON'T THINK SO!!! Since I didn't want to argue, I simply hung up and called again. I guess if I had made a ressie that I didn't intend to keep that would have been OK  and I would have been able to book for the next 10 day. Anyway, I got a great CM(Jessica) and booked every single request I had without a single problem. I made my lunches for around 2pm and dinners for around 6:30pm. Boy was I pleasantly surprised.

we are at pop century from dec 3rd to 18th

thankfullly i was able to get crt for breakfast on the 4th and they had a list of times available

Our family (4) is going Nov. 12 - 19. When we called we got everything we wanted with the times we wanted, including Le Cellier. We were flexible about days and times.

I called to book crt on 90+2 days as we are getting married at Disney and we could not get in. I was really disappointed because we wanted to go there the day after the wedding. It was booked the whole day. I will try back in the future, but man I am disappointed.

...considering your party size. CONGRATS! :flower:

We're arriving the day before TG and when I called on our 90+10 day which is 90 days from the first night I wasn't able to get my TG dinner choice nor CRT for anytime during our stay. The CM told me to call back exactly on the 90 mark so I called the next day and got CG for TG dinner and an 8:05 CRT breakfast for Thanksgiving day. So, if you don't get what you're looking for at your 90+10 day, call back on the 90 day at 7am and you might be able to get it.

I tried CRT @ the 90 day mark and for Dinner I could not get anything but 4pm. Tried twice more, 60 day mark and today...still nothing.

Same thing for LeCellier, could only get 9Pm for dinner.

We are only a party of two. :confused3

I am in the same boat. I tried to get CRT for Dinner on 12/09. It is just the two of us. The only spot they had left was 4pm. I took it, but I am really hoping something closer to 5:30 will open up??

Thanks for all your replies! and I had lost all hope of getting a reservation at CRT.

It looks like they open up more times on the 90 day mark. I see Mushumadness got a reservation for crt on the 4th (I'm guessing mushumadness called on 9/5, exacly 90 days out from 12/4) and that was one of the days I inquired about and was told was full when I called on 9/3.
I think I will try calling exactly on the 90 day mark for CRT (which should be 9/9 for a reservation on 12/8) and see what happens.

I hope this works, I have 3 girls in our party ages 7, 6, and 4 who would be so thrilled to eat with princess in the Castle!

When I went in June I had the same problem with a party of two. When my mom decided to join us I got in CRT & LeCellier with a party of three. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they have that many two tops at those resturants and they won't book a party of 2 at a 4 top usually.

We will be there in 10 days and when I called for CRT a few months ago they told me there was nothing available on any of the days we will be there. We are a party of two and they told me to try back later. I called back later to make another AR and inquired again about CRT. The CM I talked to was very nice and told me that he didn't have anything for a party of 2 but he did have a table for a party of 3. I told him that we only had 2 people though and he just said again that he had an opening for a party of 3. So I asked him if I could book that even though there are only 2 of us and he said of course. I asked him what do I do when we show up and are only a party of 2 and he said that many people make reservations and then one person will decide not to go to dinner that night so I guess we will just show up, the 2 of us and sit at a table for 3. That's okay with me....at least we get to go. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

One other question - have anyone found it better to call the 800 # or the 407-WDW-Dine # when trying for CRT? I am leaning towards the 800 # because I always seem to get through quickly, at least for reservation changes, and my last round of ADRs, and not to mention it is free, but I am wondering if it different, or lines not even open at 7:00, or just as busy as the long distance # when trying at 7:00 am eastern.

Thanks for any insight,
Cathy

Cathy, it makes no difference so use the 800# and save your money for your trip. Good luck on getting CRT for your girls. I'm sending pixie dust your way!

Good Luck!!

This is just a thought, I called on Sunday 9/4 for a Pirate Cruise, I called at 6:58, 6:59 and right on the button at 7:00 (I REALLY wanted this for my DS and when I called for all my other ADR's at 90+10, the CM told me that the Saturday Cruise fills up fast but could only be booked at 90 days, so I called as soon as they opened.

I called 407-WDW-PLAY, because that is the number for Golf, activities, etc. I got right through and the CM sounded surprised that I wanted the Pirate Cruise and was calling that early. After she set that up she asked if I needed anything else, dining, MVMCP, etc. I said "you do dining?" and she said she could do anything. Then we started talking, she was very friendly and I asked her how the whole 90+10 thing worked for CRT, she said about half the openings are "released" at the 90+10 mark (through 100 days) and half are released on a day by day basis.

Anyway, my point is has anyone ever tried calling 407-WDW-PLAY to book CRT? I did not need it this time since DD is only 1.5, but I am already stressing about it for our next trip!! :confused3
