is soft teeth inherited

Do you believe or know if having soft teeth is inherited?

If there any dentists on here, I would love to hear what you think about this too.
 
I believe it is.. I have soft teeth & so does DD, as a result, the dentists sealed her teeth when she was four & when all the adults come in, they will also be sealed... Generally speaking they do not routinely seal baby teeth...
 
Yes, heredity is one possible factor. Poor diet could be another (particularly during pregnancy). Same goes for periodontal disease - some people have a natural tendency towards this.

I'm not a dentist (dh is), so I just repeat what I have heard him tell people over the years. There are a couple of very sharp dental hygeinists on here who could give you more info.
 
My DD had Soft enamil on her baby teeth and we were told it was heriditary. DH and I blame the other! Her adut teeth have mostly grown in though, and they are not soft!
 

My Mom does, I do and so does DD. Dentist told me it is inherited.
