I was checking the Disneyland app ( we leave in two days and I'm so excited!) and it says the wait time for Soarin' is 140 minutes. I've never ridden this ride. Is it really worth that kind of wait??

Soaring is my favorite ride in Disney California but I would never wait over 2 hours to ride it. Honestly I wouldn't wait that long for any ride. I believe you can get a fast pass for that ride.

RSR was only at 60 minutes, and that's the one that I've been watching for line times so I was confused as to why Soarin' was so long!

Yeah, that seems really high to me. Especially with RSR being alot less of a wait. I usually ride soaring early because I like it but the longest I have waited was probably 30 min. Have fun on your trip!!!

definitely a must-ride (though i prefer the original version), but no way would i wait that long for it (or any ride for that matter). they have a single rider option, but in our experience it doesn't seem to save much time. we still ended up waiting quite a while. fast pass all the way!

Usually when it hits that high only one side/screen is working but definitely NOT worth that long.

The ride is fantastic!!! We rode it 3 times last week - after the first time I actually had tears in my eyes, I loved it so much!! Having said that, we hit it first thing in the morning (10 minute wait) and the other two times we got Fast passes. There is no ride anywhere.....ANYWHERE....that I would wait that long for. That's why these rides have fast passes :thumbsup2

Try to ride soaring in the morning in the first hour after rope drop and the wait is usually only 10 or 15 minutes. But as the day goes on it often gets packed.

It really isn't worth that long of a wait. No ride is. We went on it about an hour before closing and the line was down to 20 mins. It had been over an hour wait the whole day and the line was so long. It was crazy. Go either first thing or an hour before park closing. If you wait too close to park closing, everyone leaving the park gets in line for it. Our wait was 20 mins, but the line grew and they changed the sign to 45 mins for people coming to the line.

Love Soarin'! We rode it three times our last trip.

Echoing what others have said, you can get a FP for it and skip the wait.

We literally walked onto Soarin' labor day weekend ( on a DCA EMH DAY) just after official park opening and waited maybe 10 minutes then grabbed a FP for it too. If you rope drop or if you have EMH you can make good use of time.
It's worth getting up early for then going back midday to relax if needed!

Fastpass. Like others have said. you can rope drop it too, but it depends on the priority of the ride for you. If I was going in at rope drop to DCA I would go to Soarin first and then get a FP for RSR for later. It's a good attraction, but I wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes for it.

The reason for the long lines is because Soarin over California was replaced by Soarin over the World in June which was the start of many APs blockouts. Now with their blockouts lifted the local APs are back .

YES!!

It's a great ride, I'm looking forward to seeing the new one.

Usually when the app shows that long of a wait, it is because the ride is broken down. We have been there twice recently when it has gone down and rather than emptying the line, they raise the standby wait time to over 2 hours while they are working on bringing it back online. They evacuate anyone in line who has gotten to the point of the loading area and give them an electronic Fastpass to come back anytime later that day.

We were there last month and I never saw it more than 40. Our strategy was to grab Soarin' FPs at opening, then go do TSMM, GSS, Screamin', and Fun Wheel, then grab RSR FPs before heading back to ride Soarin' with our FPs. Worked great.

We love it, but would never wait in a line like that and never have. There is absolutely ways to navigate both parks never waiting in a line like that, or even 60 minutes.
