Is Slinky Dog Dash THAT great?

I describe Slinky as a rolling coaster motion. It's much longer than 7 Dwarfs so in that was they are quite different. It's so smooth it's really not like any other coaster at Disney. Not seeing where you are going due to the rolling hills gives an added element too.

The only thing in the comments so far I'm lost on is the stomach drop feeling. I am usually sensitive to them, love them but usually feel even small ones, and didn't notice any.

Yes, I'd agree. Not being able to completely see where you're going is an added touch. And that's different than Space Mountain where everything is dark. You can still see all around you, of course, but your view straight ahead is obstructed.

I think great can be subjective. I know I love rides that others may not.

I would only caution, however, that labeling it a kiddie coaster can be deceiving for people that don't like "coasters" but think they can handle SDD.

No doubt,the only Coaster that can legitimately be labeled a "KIDDIE Coaster" is The Barnstormer.JMHO

Lines aren’t bad at the end of the night (40ish). You can always try that if you need to switch.

I wouldn’t skip it. It was way more fun than 7DMT IMO. It’s peppier than that but comparing to BTMRR isn’t really true either.

Personally I think BTMRR is jerky due to age more then anything else, I would 100% expect a coaster from today t be smoother.
That said even taking away the jerkiness BTMRR I would say is a step up from 7dmt.

Going soon with 5 kids who all love Barnstormer and 7DMT so I dont think this will be too much for them.
Half the group it might be a little tame since they love Everest and RnRC, that's fine though as I was more concern with the little ones

I've also watched a couple videos recently where people had said they felt that feeling too on the ride and someone on here commented their friend was extremely queasy after the ride so possibly we're part of an even more gravity sensitive group?

Edit: In addition, (off topic), since you said you are sensitive to stomach drop feelings, do you get them on 7DMT? Particularly on the "drop" after you get out of seeing the dwarves (I think that's the one I see from watching the ride in person)? I'm hesitant to try the ride.

I think the queasy issues are all related to the inner ear, right? It gets out of whack and causes nausea. I don't know if there is a connection between the stomach drop feeling and a sensitive inner ear, hadn't thought of it. I know I have absolutely no issues with motion sickness

I'm not necessarily sensitive to drops, but IMO yes there is a mild drop sensation in 7DMT. However, like SDD it's such a smooth ride that it's not the drop sensation you'd get in small doses on BTMRR or big doses like on Splash.

Yes i agree with you. Barnstormer is the only truly kiddy coaster. Slow, tame and short. The others are what i would classify as "tame" coasters.

Rides I have not ridden because I do not enjoy the stomach drop feeling (my poor boyfriend rides by himself):
Splash, Tower of Terror, Rockin Rollercoaster, Seven dwarves mine train (I'm scared of that one drop that you see when looking at the ride. I think it's the one as you come out from seeing the dwarves).

FYI, that drop on the mine train is super mild if you ride in the front, which they will allow you to choose to do if you're willing to wait one extra train. Mine Train is the one roller coaster my 7 year old likes to ride (in any seat). He doesn't like Space, Thunder, or Barnstormer. He is not a fan of drops or catching air. He won't even try Everest. Oh, I guess he also likes Primeval Whirl, but I haven't been on that one yet (I have been pregnant since he has been tall enough to ride) and can't say what it's like.

I'll definitely have to try to get in the front car last time. I think I'd feel better seeing everything better, particularly the "drop" after the second launch.

Hmm, interesting. The ear thing could definitely be a reason I feel it more.

I wonder if maybe sometimes my inner ears are bothering me differently (as someone pointed out to me)? I don't remember any sensations on BTMRR so possibly my ears weren't bothering me that day. And I think I should describe the feelings more as weightlessness, than stomach drops b/c when thinking about it I feel those two things differently on coasters. It feels like gravity is pushing against me all weird.

We couldn't get SDD FP so I had "decided for the family" (Ha!, glad my wife won't see this) that we would skip it. After reading this, it seems we must do it. If we can't get the FP with the daily attempts (which I'm batting .000 so far in my life with such "less than 30 day FP attempts" at major rides) then we'll head over during the fireworks. Thanks for all the great reviews!

We're going in a couple of days and I'm panicking about Slink. I HATE drops. I have gone in the 7 Dwarfs Mine four or so times 2 years ago (I managed to gather enough courage as the rest of the family rode a few times, went 1 time and then didn't notice any drops - sitting in the front - so I then rode once each with the rest of the family).

Does Slinky have the same level of drop feeling? Worse?

I don't mind the banks or the speed, bit cacan handle the drop feeling at all.

This was more intense then mine train and BTMR to me. Had drop feelings on this one

Then again, first ride always feels worse then it actually is
