We will be going to one ts restaurant. Which would be the best. She likes the concept of the si-fi but we are undecided. In the si-fi do you share the car with other families? We are a group of 4.

Depending on the size of your party and the crowd level you might share a car with others.
I personally think that the 50s Prime Time Cafe is the restaurant you can have the most fun in at Disney. The staff is hillarious, the decor is authentic 50s and 60s and the menu is full of familiar family favorite dishes and the quality has always been good. Seeing parents get disciplined for having their elbows on the table is bound to be a lifetime memory for any 16 year old. :thumbsup2

I agree that 50's could be a lot of fun but it could be hit or miss depending on which server you get.

I have not tried it yet but how about WCC...That sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Maybe she wants more of an adult meal like at Kona or GF Cafe. If she still likes the princess maybe the dinner at 1900 park fare. She may feel a little too old for it or she may like it. Why don't you have her look at the menu's on Debs sight and she can pick it out herself.

Just some ideas,

Loralie

I think the 16 year old would enjoy Sci Fi. Yes, you probably would get seated with another party. We're just two and sat in the back of a car with a family of four. We had no interaction with them at all.

The film clips are just so hokey. I find myself laughing out loud.

Yes, do Sci fi dine. It is perfect for older kids.

Sorry but last Sept. I was not thrilled at all with 5o's prime time. I have been wanting to wat there for years.
The services was REALLY bad and the food was tasteless.
We had no interaction with our waitress, she was so not into it, and we waited over a hour and half with a ADR. Standing the majority of the time, becaseu the place is small and not a lot of seating for people waiting.

Since you are a party of FOUR, you will not be sharing a car with anyone us!

I get so tickled reading everyone's opinions. If you want a theme that will please her, either 50's of Si Fi will fit the bill. The general consesus (sp?) on the DIS (after 3 years of reading reviews) and a bit of personal experience is: If you want burgers and shakes...do SiFi, they seem to be the 'safe bet' menu item. I loved 50's PT, (chicken noodle soup and fried chicken) but it was several years ago. But if you want good food at MGM my recommendation is Brown Derby.

That's my $.02

My 15 year old liked Sci-Fi ok, but 50s Prime Time more. The atmosphere at WCC was great, but we didn't care for the food (they teased her mercilessly!) We explored a lot of other places as we were on the DDP. Some of her favorites were LeCellier, Les Chefs de France, and Coral Reef...she liked Teppanyaki because she is a Japan freak.

We have always liked Sci-Fi, knowing many people bash this place, but it's definitely a fun place to cool off and eat. Go for the sandwiches and milkshakes. DH, being an avid fan of Mystery Science Theather 3000, where they watch all the B movies, gets the biggest kick out of this place. DS 13 and DS 11 always ask to go there. We'll be back again this year, too! :thumbsup2

Hi,

we have visited both '50s Primetime' and 'Sci-Fi' over the years and the food was great at both! I was really amazed when I first walked inside sci fi beacause it wasnt at all like i expected...........the idea is just so cool!

I did like 50's too but we didnt have a brilliant waitress. She didnt really interact much and we had more fun watching other families interact with their waitresses. It kind of made us feel a bit left out so for that reason we probably wouldnt visit again but on the positive side, the food was very nice!
