Is Shutters really that bad?

I've heard repeatedly that the food at Shutters - the table service restaurant at Carribbean Beach Resort - is terrible. Is it really that bad? Wouldn't Disney have done something about this after so many bad reviews? We're staying there in September and I'd like to try it out... but not if it's horrible! :scared:

2 years ago my family and I stayed at CBR. We booked an ADR with Shutters. The food was okay, the service was okay. Not spectacular but not terrible either. If I was staying at CBR again, I would eat at Shutters again. That being said, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat there though.

We had a great meal there!!

Our server was great! He was so kind to us, attentive but not overbearing. He went out of his way for special requests for our picky children, and brought them extras with their desserts. The place was nice, the tables are not on top of each other. It's not noisy at all. We both had steaks and potatoes and they were so tender and so juicy. The broth on top was so delicious!!

We really liked it. I know it doesn't get great reviews, but we had a good experience with it.

:thumbsup2

It's great to hear some positive reviews! We are going on the dining plan... but are trying for a relaxing trip so having dinner a couple nights at the hotel would be nice. :) Thanks!

We had dinner there in 2007. It was one of our best meals of our trip that year. Everything was great! The service was a little bit slow...trying to get our check to leave....she had a few parties going on and we did understand. I'd eat there again but we have too many other places that we want to try this year. We are staying at the CBR too.

We were there in late 2007 and it was just okay. Nothing memorable or noteworthy. We did not have any bad experiences with food or our server at Shutters, but we just felt it was a slight notch over the food court. I would not make it a point to go back there.

I ate there 2x. Once before it was shutters and once after it became shutters. It was bad both times. The first time the food was awful and mostly fat, the service bad. The second, the food was grossly undercooked and the service abysmal. We won't go back.

My dd and her bf ate there in December of 2007. She said it was the worst dining experience of their entire trip. She said the food was nasty and the service was terrible. She said she would never return.

We te there in january 2008 and the food was about equal to what you'd get at an Applebees - not the selection but the quality

I went there with my GF and out friends back in April just to try it out, the first time there for all of us and we will never even think about going back.

The salad was wilted, the steaks were also not good and the deserts were mediocre. Our friend actually felt like they were going to throw up after leaving!

The service was also nothing to brag about. If you're going you may want to try the lunch services...you may be better off with quick service if you wanted to stay at the resort

Our Family ate their in Aug 2008. We reall liked the food and service. We are going ba this tri

We ate there in '07 and all 9 in our party thought it was very good. We didn't have any preconcieved notions about it. We were staying at CBR, it was raining like crazy so we decided to try Shutters. It was one of the better meals of that WDW trip. Service was excellent also.

I ate there a day or two after the new years and I got the NY strip, gf got the prime rib.. Both were very good. The service was excellent our waiter was very nice and professional... We had a great dinner...

I've only eaten there once a couple of years ago. I did get very sick just a few hours later and threw up all night.
