I have never eaten there before, and but it looks like it could be fun for my kids. What is the food like? Is it worth it? Think we'd be okay there with my one-year-old along for the meal?

I have eaten there several times and always end up wondering why I ate there. It is definately pricey...for lunch and dinner. My 11 year old daughter just said it was ok but she would rather not do it again. Will it be fun for a 1 year old...not in my opinion. I am a firm believer of the Must Do Once. Just don't have a high expectation. :)

Sci-Fi is a must-do for our family on every trip! My kids (and I) love the theming and atmosphere...it's a lot of fun. :thumbsup2

The food is very similar to what you would get at Applebee's or Chili's. As for "worth it" that depends what you're into (I mean, some people think a signature restaurant isn't "worth it" because it's just food; and likewise, some people think it's worth paying a premium for the cool atmosphere at Sci-Fi even though the food is nothing extraordinary). The food is fine, but not outstanding. The experience is pretty cool. I agree, it's a "must do once." We're really happy we did it, we liked our meals a lot (onion rings, real cherry Coke, strawberry shake, shrimp pasta, mango glazed tofu, apple crumble, cheesecake with caramel corn and M&M's which was MUCH better than it sounds), the atmosphere was fun, we will probably never feel compelled to do it again.

You'd probably be OK with a 1-year-old if s/he's okay with it being dark, but your older kids will get more out of it.

We loved Sci Fi. The food and atmosphere are kind of like you would find in an old fashioned soda shop. We loved it and the cars you get to eat in are so fun. This place was a big hit with our son who turned 2 on the trip. He really enjoyed "driving" the car and watching the movies. The food was good and our server was great! We had hamburgers and onion rings. My son had a child's hamburger and ice cream for dessert. He isn't too picky of an eater but we were surprised that he ate his ENTIRE meal. We are going back on our next trip. We liked it that much.:thumbsup2

I really love the milkshakes and the theming at Sci Fi, but the food is just ok. Our last trip my mother and I went in the late afternoon just for a shake. It should be fine for a one year old. If you want to go for the theme and don't mind so-so food, I would do it. It is really fun, especially as a one time thing.

Hmmm. Thanks for all the input. Sounds like a good one-time thing that my older girls would love. And hey, maybe we'll end up liking it a lot! The food choices actually sound a lot better than I thought they'd be.

I would definitely do it once!

The theming is SUPERB ...... however, the food is very-much-less-than-superb!!

But my boys love it and want to go back.
