Recent Wonder cruisers, is Roy still in the beginning of the Golden Mickeys? That is my favorite part of the show, and now that he is resigned, I wonder how DCL is going to handle it.

I was on the november 20/23 Wonder and Roy was still in the beginning of the Golden Mickey show

I think it is very sad that this is even a possibility. He is part of Disney's history. JMO.

We just got back this early am from our trip to WDW and the Wonder and he was still on it.

I'm still so tired. Will sleep well tonight.

Oh Wow Barb. I hadn't even thought of this.

I hope that they leave that part of the show intact. Regardless of recent events, he's still a Disney and deserves to remain in this wonderful tribute to his family's legacy.

he was still in it, I can't imagine they would take that out, that would be very sad.

I haven't seen this show yet, but I agree with this 100%. Those were my first thoughts when I saw this thread. He's a DISNEY, afterall...he deserves a place in that show which is, as dvcreg just said, a tribute to the Disney legacy.

If I remember correctly, they refer to his position with the company because they say he is broadcasting live from Burbank. If that's the case, maybe they can just say it's Roy Disney broadcasting live without going into detail and just leave it in. To me, he is a link to Walt, and it's so heartwarming and inspiring to see him and to see the old footage. One of our dinner tablemates said it actually brought tears to her eyes.

I thought it was highly unprofessional for Roy to express his personal feelings about Michael Eisner in such a public way...sounds like sour grapes to me...Disney brand name et al would be in proverbial toilet today if it wasn't for Eisner....

Just got back from our Wonder cruise. I heard on the news something about this, but didn't know details. Can someone tell me what's going on and why he resigned?

thanks,
laura

I didnt see it as unprofessional at all. He wanted the public to be aware of why he felt he had to leave what his family has worked so hard for. Yes, Eisner has done alot, but I am sure we do not know the REST of the story.

Praise in public....
Criticize in private.

That being said, in this case, Roy did the right thing.

Just got off the Magic today (WAHHH :( :( ) and they premiered the Golden Mickey's Thursday nite, and yes, Roy is still featured in it. Brought tears to my eyes. The show was fantastic and I soooo happy to see Roy a part of it still. Don't miss it!

It's so good to know he's still in it!
As much as I love the musical numbers, I think that the beginning will always be my favorite part of that show. That's probably one of the reasons I even like it a bit better than Disney Dreams.
