Can't remember which row is better for Soarin' so you don't see feet. Is it 1 or 3? Just trying to give some hints to a friend going down next week.

We like row one the best. We have been on all the rows and it is great no matter where you sit. However, rows 2 and 3 will tend to have feet hanging down if you look up.

I've been in all three rows. Yes, row 1 is the very best as far as not being able to see dangling feet. But, I do have to say that those dangling feet really didn't bother me too much. I tend to not look 'up' so much, prefer to just look straight ahead, so those feet above me don't impact me as much.

Oh, and Cindy....if you imagine a ferris wheel, with those cars going up and around, you can imagine how Soarin' works. If you are in row 1, your row goes up first, then row 2, then row 3...so, there are no rows above you in row 1, but row 2 can see row 1's feet above them, and then row 3 can see row 2's above them....but, as I said..it wasn't a big deal for me..I really didn't notice those dangling feet.

hi
section b, row 1 is the best place to be in soarin'. they don't mind if you ask to wait for section b but can't guarantee which row. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

Why thank you. I've never understood how Soarin worked.

The people in the row in front you :) If you are in row 2 you see row 1 peoples feet LOL.

no you dont sit yourself you get into rows, but you can request row 1.

There are 3 rows of seats when you get in there. When the attraction starts row 1 shoots up 40 feet high. row 2 moves forward and shoots up under row 1 and then 3 shoots up under row 2.

So only in row 1 do you not see feet LOL. If you only get to ride this 1 time I would suggest getting to row 1. The feet are a distraction and take away from it a little bit.

Do we seat ourselves, heading to the section and row we want ... or does a CM seat us?
hi
you'r seated but if you want a certain place to sit they wiill let you wait until this area becomes free. ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

We sat in the section on the far left (not sure which that was, could be C) and we sat in row 1 (the one way up high). I didn't see feet but if I looked to the right I could see other people. The point is that it is a ride and if you look away from the screen you will realize that. So no matter where you sit just look at the screen and let your mind take you to those exotice places you visit on Soarin.

Also, if you are afraid of heights stay away from row 1, it is quite high.

Have a wonderful trip!

We sat in all three rows. I think that I liked row two the best. The feet didn't bother me. In row one I could see the top of the screen and in row three the bottom of the screen. We sat in the middle for 2 and 3. The first time I did notice the feet, but I think it was just because everyone here talks about it so much. When we were in row 1 we were on the left, and I really noticed the screen, and I noticed the people on the right side of me. We rode in 3 last, and I noticed people that time, too. Funny, I didn't notice people at all the first time, but I wasn't looking. If you just look at the screen and enjoy the ride the people don't bother you. I didn't feel like we had a bad seat in any of the seats.

Just FYI: The place you wait to be seated is like M:S, BodyWars, etc. where you line up in a certain row and stand on a floor mark.

And here's a little text graphic which explains the rows and feets.

I think any row is fine, since the video for the ride is so amateurishly made, it doesn't matter if you can see the feet. The imagery destroys the illusion more than the feet watching.

I don't know why Disney Imagineers cannot come up with better ways of transitioning than the abrupt cuts between scenes. Totally screws up the wonderful illusion. You can do little things like soaring over field of crops then plummeting into the grove of trees, goes dark momentarily, and then exiting over a seaside cliff. Instead, they just used abrupt scene cuts between areas.

Ride would have been great if the video was better. Instead, this is just an expensive so-so ride with lost potentials in my book.

Soarin is one of my favorite rides at Disney, I think it is great, and much more than "amateurishly made".....it is amazing, and makes you feel like you are actually flying over California!!!

I have had the opportunity to sit in all three rows, and it makes no difference which row you are in, the ride is still great. Don't concentrate on the feet, concentrate on the screen and you won't realize the feet of the people in front of you are there.

I like row 1 cause you don't see the feet, yet think overall you see better with row 2. Row 1 like someone else said I can see the top of the screen. If no one swung thier feet I would be ok in row 2, problem is, those in row 1 swing thier feet which seems to grab my attention.

Row one is the best,,,, but I found that I get sick on the very edges of the ride and feet make me sick to,,, I get really dizzy,, so we kindly request to set in the front in any section just not on the very ends.

I get really bad motion sickness. I was told by someone in line that if I start to get queezy - to just look up away from the screen. It worked. I sat in row 3 and seeing feet above me didnt bother me at all.
Dh sat in row one and he never gets queezy and he said in a couple of spots he shut his eyes because it made his stomach flip flop

I hate to admit it, but I agree with this. I've been watching Imax for years and all this is, is watching an Imax movie while sitting up off the floor.
Except for piping in the smells, it's nothing new. I saw the same scenes at Six Flags 10 years ago. :lol

To answer the OP, row 1 is the best row for the experience. The dangling feet really did detract. I feel bad for the CMs now that everyone knows this. 20 people must have asked while I was waiting if they could sit in row 1.

I rode this ride over and over again, while staying at GC in Disneyland (DS and DH were on Screaming). I really like row one, smack dab in the middle.

I found the abrupt scenary changes odd too. Although a cast member told me that the film was very expensive to make. I think a Soarin Over the East Coast would be awesome: Come in on the coast of Maine, hit Beantown, Martha Vineyard, Newport, Soarin down 5th Ave, over DC, coast of Carolinas, Charleston, Savannah, down the east coast of FL, the Cape, and then onto to WDW. Gives me goose bumps.
