Is ROR worth $170?

I have rode three times. $170? No way. But I am a casual Star Wars watcher and I love thrill rides.
Its a technological marvel, but I was bored on my 3rd ride. It is not fast, or thrilling in any way except emotionally if you are a Star Wars fan.
I prefer Tower of Terror still.
no spoilers please! sigh

if you practice with boarding groups, have more than one person trying, and are ready at opening more times than not you will get a BG low enough to ride (seems wednesday and friday are the days to avoid right now though). I agree with everyone else. Go to your HS day and be ready to go. If it works out like it should you'll get to ride. If not you can add hopper then to try again the next day.

You can practice all you want plus even have the experience of getting a boarding group however you still rely on the app working properly and are at the mercy of it "turning red" to allow you to book. Practice just means familiarity but no way guarantees anything.

From what I understand, after you go through the turnstiles into Hollywood studios, you can leave and try to join a boarding from from somewhere else? You don’t have to be physically in the park. Only matters that you WERE in the park? We are going to Epcot one morning and have an 8:20am ADR for Garden Grill. So if DHS opens at 8am, do they start letting people in at 7:15am? So we could potentially join a boarding group while being let into Epcot as long as we went through the DHS turnstiles first?

To a point, yes. The problem is I don't think anyone knows what happens if you tap into DHS, then tap into a different park before joining. It might cause the system to recognize you are no longer INSIDE DHS and not let you join. The other problem would be if you run into a glitch, there will be no cast member nearby who will be able to help you. For example, if only part of your party shows up as available (happens occasionally) or if the app says people haven't tapped into the park. You'd be pretty stuck at that point. If you DO try it, please report back so we know if it's possible!

EDIT: So if you really want to try it and you care about riding, I would stay outside Epcot until you successfully get into a boarding group. THEN go into Epcot and enjoy your breakfast (and hope you didn't get a super low boarding group!).

I would probably stay in DHS until u secure your boarding group at 8am then get a Lyft to go to Epcot. You would still likely make it to Garden Grill by 8:20-8:30? Or am I being overly optimistic?

Honestly, it may be worth switching your DHS day to earlier in your trip. I know it is a bit of a pain, but I was able to switch park days around during Christmas week about a week or two out and it wasn't even quite as difficult as I initially thought. Just required some flexibility.

We have 2 other DHS days dedicated to try for a boarding group but since I am hearing so many reviews of people not getting BG even after trying a couple days, was brainstorming if there was a realistic way to try for a 3rd time. We have 6 day park hoppers.

If u are flexible enough to work with backup boarding groups, then I think 2 days should work. But your scenario could work and may be worth an attempt :)

We are going the week of April 19th; our DHS days are April 20th and 24th so maybe it will be a slower time; hahahaha!!! 😆.
