Is room view important?

We haven't gone in for view in our choices, because with young kids, we basically figure the room is for sleeping and not much else.

Like pretty much everyone else we like having great views. We've paid for them too. However over time I've come to realize that paying extra for a great view isn't worth it for us. This is what I've found: We paid for a great view at CR. Could see the fireworks at MK everynight from our balcony. The thing is we had to be in our room to see them from our balcony. That was the issue, many times we were out and about not in the room. Also, how many nights do you want to watch the same fireworks from your room? It does get repetitive on a 7 night trip. Yes, in the morning you can see the lake and MK, but you can sit on your balcony with any view. Seeing the MK everyday isn't that important to me. So to recap my view: We love great views, but don't love paying extra for those views on extended trips.

It means nothing to us. We watch the fireworks from the parks and we aren't in the room enough to worry aobut the view the rest of the time to pay extra for it.

Unless I was somewhere like AKL I wouldn't care.

I have no intention of spending time in our room unless I'm asleep!

For a "regular" resort, like a value or moderate, I would skip paying extra for a better view, such at a view of a lake. But for the Poly I would definitely pay more for the view of the lagoon.

My family stayed summer 2010 at the poly garden view, and summer 2011 lagoon view. The poly is great any way but........ being able to sit/lay in bed while the fireworks/water pageant music is being piped in while viewing the show from your own room, and seeing the beautiful view of the MK castle in the evening (or day) is so magical. But, the upgrade is pricey. On the other hand, if there are any club level rooms available I would, if it was me, book a garden room club level. The club level poly experience is even more magical an experience than that "magical view." And the up-charge between lagoon view or club level is not the same but pretty close when everything is said and done (you'll receive a nice breakfast every morning of your stay). Tikiman.com has all the information you'll need to lock in on a decision. You're in for a fantastic trip in any decision you make at the Poly!
