Is Rock 'N' Roller Coaster Extremely Rough?

I know this ride goes quite fast (57 MPH I think is the peak) but I was wondering how smooth it is. Are you thrown about in your seat alot or do you pretty much stay in one place? And does it induce motion sickness? I'm hoping to ride on my Christmas trip (I adore Aerosmith, I hate to pass it up) but I'm just slightly anxious still.

It's a very smooth coaster and you're basically harnessed in so that you don't wobble around.

Go and try it once then you can make your own decissions on whether to do it again or not.

It throws my head into the over-the-shoulder restraint hard enough on a couple of the turns that I have learned to press my head back hard into the head rest while I grip the shoulder restraint tightly with both hands to steady
myself as much as possible.

It's definately the "jerkiest" of all the disney coasters. But compared to coasters at say, 6 flags, it's extremely smooth.

It's not rough at all. Thinnk of Big Thunder Mountain and it's the opposite! It's one of my favorite rides at Disney- the beginning is just amazing (zero to something in no time!). And- if you love Aeorsmith, you can't miss it! It's fast and smooth with LOUD Steven Tyler screaming in your ears!. You should actually ride a few time to hear the different music. There are short clips of songs played thoughout the ride and you usuallay hear one or two per ride. I've found that the songs and where you sit on the ride really give you a different feel each time. My recommendation is to sit in the middle- that way you really feel the loop at the beginning and try to avoid (as much as I love it as a song) Sweet Emotion- it's just a little too slow for the ride!-- Understanding that you will really have no control over either of these factors, especially the song choice- ride a few times to really get the best out of it!
Don't miss it and ENJOY!

I thought the ride was quite smooth. As far as motion sickness, it all depends on the individual and what he/she can handle. I'd say to go ahead and give it a try. I've ridden RnRC multiple times in a row without even getting dizzy.

yes, this is exactly what i do. when you are sitting waiting for "take off" make sure your head is right back against that head rest. if you dont, the ride will. you go very fast very quickly.

i dont like rollercoasters. i love rockin roller coaster.

Thanks guys!! I just needed some reassurance. I think the launch, going from nothing to something extremely fast, was my main concern. I feel better now. :goodvibes:

I disagree! Big Thunder Mtn, is really jerky!! I get thrown around in my seat a whole lot more on this than any other Disney ride (and I love it for that!). It's definately not as thrilling as RRC and more like an "old time roller coaster" . I wouldn't put it in the same catagory as RRC at all.

The "launch" is fantastic! You said you're an Aerosmith fan- imagine Steven Tyler screaming- LOVE IN AN ELEVATOR while you do 60mph upside-down!! Also, if you love Aerosmith, you'll love the pre-show.

Also-- When you discover that you love it, the singles line can't be beat for the quickest trip back on (FP is usually sold out early in the day).

Man, do I wish I was there right now!!!

It's not bad at all,

If you really can't stand roller coasters, I would suggest to sit in the very back (Just ask the CM, they won't mind. You'll just have to sit out until it's your turn). It is somewhat jerky though back there, but you don't feel the shot as bad (I've ridden it so much, I might just have gotten used to it).

During the acceleration I looked like photo #3.

Except for that, RnRC was fine. :goodvibes

Space Mountain in Paris is about the the jerkiest ride I have ever been on. rocking roller-coaster is very smooth in comparison. The dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom is a different matter :headache:

I love it, it's one of my fav. rides. I think it's pretty smooth and you may think I am crazy for saying this, but I did a test so to speak and sitting in the middle is way more smooth than riding towards the back and front. I tried this several times a few weeks ago and I swear by it...LOL

Imagine The Scream. That was me during the launch.

The take off is the only part of the ride that bothers me. It's way too fast for me and makes my chest hurt. Once I can get past that, the rest of the ride is fun and smooth.

I think that RnR is only rough if you are one of those people who hasn't learned to rest your head on the headrest. Any rollercoaster will beat you up if you don't do that.

RnR is one of the smoothest coasters that I've ever ridden.

I always have heard the front is smoother on roller coasters but I suppose I'll have to try your strategy.:goodvibes
