My parents are retired and they've never been happier! They live in a retirement community geared towards active adults, and boy are they ever active! They have a better social life then I've ever had! The association has every club and activity known to man, there are two golf courses, a gym, several pools, and an auditorium where comedy and musical acts come to perform.

Like anything else, it's what you make of it!

I'm not retired, but my parents are and have been for several years now. They are retired in FL and have a wonderful time. They play tennis, bike, travel, etc. - basically, whatever they want to do.

I have relatives who recently retired, they are well off financially and are very unhappy. They sit home bored all the time and I see their health declining as well.
You really need to stay active that's the key!
