I ask because during our visit (January 25 to Feb 1) both the Haunted Mansion and Small World are closed. I'm assuming this is because of the holiday overlay removal, but has anyone ever had it happen where they are done early or switched the dates?

Those will pretty much be set. They may finish early - that's the only thing you can hope for. When the time comes to take off an overlay, it's pretty much set in stone.

New rehabs and construction of new attractions - those can fluctuate. A good example of that is the Sun Wheel in DCA. Was supposed to go down a couuple weeks ago and was delayed.

I don't know about stone.... But they may open early... Like the HM with the NBC overlay opened a couple of days early this year! :thumbsup2

Jasy, where are you getting that information? I looked at the Disneyland.com website and there's no info available on the schedule as yet for January. So, obviously I'm looking in the wrong place.

But, but, but . . . That just shows park hours. Where do you see where it says that It's a Small World and Haunted Mansion will be closed???? (I feel like such a doofus cuz I'm not seeing it.)

On the monthly calendar plug in your dates and length of stay then click on "get schedule". You should be able to see what is closed for refurbishment.
HTH!

OK. Whew. Finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Have now removed my head from that place where the sun does not shine.

Now, I recall a while back that one of the experts (I'm thinking it was Darkbeer) said that Fantasmic would be showing EVERY NIGHT in JANUARY and FEBRUARY. (I'm thinking the reason for that was to work out any kinks from the overhaul.)

Has there been any further confirmation on that?????

My memory is that the HM is usually reopened before the end of January. so maybe we'll get lucky and it'll be open (we're going the 21st, 22nd, 25th.)
