Maybe I am misunderstanding, or something. But Rainforest is literally open showers where people can walk by and see you standing in there in your swimsuit? There doesnt seem to be much privacy and it seems very open? So yes, lights, sounds, temperatures, hoorah, but why pay all that money to be out in the open where people can see you essentially in a shower?

Wife & I paid for it during our February cruise on the Wonder. It was okay, the heated stone loungers were nice, but we didn't think it was worth the money. It was fun to experience, but we'll pass on our next Wonder cruise.

Note - Wonder doesn't have a hot tub for the Rainforest experience, that might have been a gamechanger for us.

We have never used the hot tubs in the rainforest room on the Dream class. It's all about the heated tile loungers on the four original ships - there may have been some napping (and...ahem...snoring) involved. And then hopping into the various saunas to try the dry vs moist heat and then to the showers to cool off. It's just the overall atmosphere - the relaxing faint music, the dripping water noises, the sips of cucumber-infused water...... not everyone would like it, but we love it! I felt the price was too steep to try on the Wish cruise we were on, and since much of it is open-air, I thought it would lack some of the peace and relaxing sounds I crave when I visit the Rainforest. Perhaps some day we'll give it a try.

Personally - I didn’t think so. Heated loungers? Sure. Assuming they are free. Otherwise, it’s you showering while others are around (probably on the loungers) or you sitting in a sauna with others, while others utilize the showers or loungers. Did it twice. Won’t do it again. If I’m spending money at the spa, I’m doing Alone Time or some other private experience.

We have been to the rainforest room on all 5 ships. We really enjoyed the loungers and showers on the classic ships. The Dream class ships are also nice with the ocean views and hot tubs.

The only one we will not do again is the Wish. It was super crowded (to the point that they did not have enough wristbands for everyone who paid). The ice room was cool, but overall did not see the value in the much higher priced rainforest room on the Wish.

We had the opportunity for a ladies’ night. Fixed number of guests. Chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne. That was my speed. A few hours and done.

I enjoy Thalassotherapy pools on other cruise lines - they are more “worth it” for me. And they have heated loungers, too. Finding a cruise spa with enclosed specialty showers is a challenge.

At least the free large showers in the spa dressing room are enclosed.

I wouldn't pay for it on the Magic class, but I like it on the Dream class. I don't particularly care about the showers. For me, it's about the hot tubs with a view of the ocean, much less crowded than the ones on deck, and the heated tile loungers, also pointed out to sea. The loungers don't exactly have a view (too far from the windows), but there is plenty of sunlight. The dry sauna with a view of the sea is nice, too. By contrast, the Magic class RR has no windows, and just doesn't seem appealing.

I've done the Rainforest Room on every ship except the Dream. I really liked it on the Fantasy for the reasons mentioned - sea view hot tubs, heated loungers that face the ocean, and sauna with window looking out at the sea. I don't really do the showers, I find them awkward. Magic/Wonder RR is debatable value unless you really like the loungers and you're planning to go during off-peak times (like during main dining or the show). Wish RR was a huge disappointment. Ice room, as mentioned, is kind of neat, but that's about it. No sea views anywhere, hot tubs are only usable during the day because they're outside and the outside area isn't lit after dark...the whole experience was just kind of a bummer for how much it was hyped up.

I love the one on the Fantasy, havent tried it on the Dream since the cruises are too short. Not impressed by the Wonder/Magic. As for the fantasy I will just get a daypass on a portday and spend a morning there: love the steamrooms and the whirlpools in a quiet environment. The loungers make the perfect spot for a nap or quiet reading.
BUT never ever would I pay for a length of cruise pass. sometimes it even takes 'to walk out' before they are willing to sell a daypass...

so it seems it really is as akward as my brain assumed it was, where its standing in the open showering in front of people. lol

I actually enjoy the showers. Some are really relaxing. You can stand there and just enjoy the water. You are also not out in the open. They are round and have about 1/5 of the circle as an opening. I turn my back to the opening and feel very much enclosed. It’s also not as if the people on the loungers can br staring at the showers. So it’s only those who would pass by. The rainforest room is not the pool deck with people rushing through all the time.

Just a quick clarification in case anyone is picturing something different. Just like Flossbolna said, they are round showers with a partial opening. Yes, other spa-goers can see you - but it's not a "scrub and shampoo" type of shower. No one is in there washing up. It is just spraying water of different temperatures, water pressure, sounds (like thunder), and some have aromatherapy scents at the same time. The ships have a variety of different versions - and the "shower" lasts probably a minute or less - it's really more of a water spray experience. The word "shower" is deceptive. Real showers are in the changing rooms.

I enjoyed the one on the Fantasy pretty well but that was back when you could get a day pass. I liked the showers, the hot tub, the saunas. I chose not to get the pass on my recent trip on the Magic. Without the hot tubs and the view, having to buy the length of cruise pass, a shorter trip and knowing it was a full ship were the reasons I skipped it.

If I ever get to do one of the transatlantic trips, I think I will definitely get a pass and use it a lot on the sea days. Otherwise if I'm on something that is more port intensive, I don't know that it's worth it for me - the times I would use it in those cases would probably be the same time everyone else wanted to use it.

I thought the Rainforest was totally worth it. We got to rent the whole area for an hour. No one around at all. This was at the end of covid 2021 Christmas cruise on Fantasy.

This is exactly how I feel about the different ships.

My favorite time in the rainforest room was right after COVID where you paid a set fee to use the whole rainforest room. My daughter and I had so much fun on the Dream using the facilities by ourselves! It is one of my favorite memories on DCL!

Not for us. We did it on the Fantasy a while back. One and done. I did enjoy the tile loungers and the hot tub but honestly, it wasn't really worth it for just those two things (for us) as we thought the showers were.....meh.
