Going to WDW on October 5th. Are Priority Seating reservations a must? Can we get them once we're there? Any advice would be appreciated.

I would

we have around 10 for our visit even we will be less in a rush we still like to do PS's reather than possiblywait in lines at resturants they don't cost anything except the phone call 1-407-WDW-DINE

It really depends on where and when you want to eat. If you have a specific restaurant in mind, then I would definitely call for a PS. However, if you are completely flexible it's not absolutely necessary. As an example: I was there last year and did not make any prior PS. We wanted to eat at Spoodles on the Boardwalk when we went over around 6:30. They were booked solid with PS and not taking any walk ins. We still ate at the Boardwalk, but we opted for a pizza and an outside table instead.

I think it depends on when, where and how many in your party.. I think it's alot easier to get a walk-up table for two, than it would be a table of four or 6. Our last trip (November 200), we only made 3 PS's and never had to wait more than 5 minutes for anyplace we didn't have one (including Yachtsman, Cindy's, Le Cellier, Brown Derby and Portobello Yacht Club)

This time - we've decided to not make any (with the exception of our anniversary dinner, which has yet to be decided) that way we're not locked into where we will be eating that day... it also make it a little more spontaneous - granted, if we were travelling with children, it would probably be a whole different story :)

Ones to definitely make well in advance if you want them are Cindy's character breakfast (must call early morning 60 days before), other in the park character meals, times for outside seating at Rose & Crown during the 2 hours before Illuminations(as it gives an ideal view and thus gets heavily reserved), times for a couple of hours before fireworks at MK at the California Grill in the Contemporary (it is on top floor and has ideal view of MK and fireworks), and Hoop Dee Doo. Also advisable to make them for resort character meals if you want ideal times. For everything else, it is usually easy to get what you want (as long as you have some flexibility with the time for dinner) by simply calling a couple of days or day before and often just the morning of. Try to at least make them for dinner the day before or morning of as often it is difficult to get in many places at dinner (but not lunch) without a long wait by just walking up.

It depends on how flexible you are, and where you want to eat. Before we had kids we didn't make as many ps's as we do now... we'd just go to guest services in the park and see what was available. We'd eat late if we had to. It really didn't matter. The only time we made a ps was for a special night out. :) Many times we walked into Narcoosee's and ate without a ps.

Now with kids I make a ps for every dinner. We have to eat around 5:30 or my kids will go insane. ;) I don't want to be dragging my kids around looking for a restaurant that has availability, or having to wait for a table. With the ps we know we'll be sitting down at a certain time. :)

All character meals need ps's (in my opinion). :)
