Just wanted to know everyones thoughts. We have never purchased it before but are considering it for our upcoming trip. Is it worth it if you already take a lot of photos yourself. TIA

We did it on our last trip and found it was worth it. The photopass pictures were the only ones that had our entire family in it. When we got home my wife spent days adding all the various borders onto the photopass pictures online.

I have read a lot of complaints on here about quality of photopass BUT we have gotten it for 4 trips and LOVE it. We always pre-order it to save some money and if you are not happy you can get a refund when you get back. 2x we got the photo cd and book combo and loved it.

we are struggling with sept trip as we only have 2 park days so I don`t want to buy it but one of those park days is mnsshp

I did this for our last trip and it was worth it for us......now I can't remember how I went about pre-purchasing it. Anyone care to share how I can do this for our October trip?

I prepaid for photopass last year and was very happy with my decsion. We had a ton of great photos!

This year, I was so busy before our trip that I never had a chance to preorder the photopass. When we got to the parks, we saw that other people were having the photopass photographers take pictures with their camerasj, so we did it too. When we got home, we looked at both the photopass pictures (we took plenty but did not have the prepaid cd) and the ones taken with our camera. The ones taken with our camera generally came out better!

One other thing to think about...I drove my kids nuts when we got the prepaid cd. I wanted bang for my buck and made them pose for a gazillion pictures. They got annoyed after a while and I can't say I blame them. I mean, who doesn't love stopping and smiling for a picture after a day in the parks with enormous crowds and searing jungle heat? :confused3

I pre-paid for a photopass cd on my trip this past April. I ended up only having about 20 pictures on there, and it was very easy to cancel my pre-order. I received a full credit for the money I paid in advance. I thought it was a good "better safe than sorry" offer.

This is me, too! :lmao::lmao:

I make the kids pose all day long. DH is thrilled that he doesn't have to carry a camera at all (our compromise, no camera, just photopass in the parks) There is no way I could get the great photos they get a the waterparks. I have bought the last four years, and it is SO worth it to me. Our christmas card is always one from photopass, of ALL of us, not just the kids.

Yes, I think it is. Especially if you are going to do one or two waterparks. I too drive my family crazy taking picture but since I'm the one taking all of our pictures it's the best way to get all of us in the photos. My experience (at WDW and DLR) is that the photos they take of you with your camera are okay, but they take better ones with their (better) cameras.

However, I no longer prepay the WDW one since we are DLR APH and go to DLR a lot. I get to pay the DLR price by having PP taken at DLR after we get back from WDW. Only $59.95 (DLR) instead of the WDW prepay price ($99.95).

A few years back (first time I did this) I went ahead a prepaid for the WDW one. I wanted to be sure that I would only have to pay the DLR price. Once I was able to order my WDW/DLR for the DLR price, I asked for a refund of the prepay and received the credit on my card in a few weeks.

I did the same thing this past trip. We did not end up with many pictures so I canceled and got my money back.

They are worth it! For starters, they're refundable if you don't want it in the end. It's the best way to get all of you in the pictures. We spent a week at a family reunion on the beach last month and took 500 photos. I'm in 4 of them, and it was my family! By having the PP take the shots, I'm in them! :) The magic shots are super cute too.

I definitely think it's worth it. Unless you have more sophisticated camera equipment, there are some pictures that just won't be the same. For instance, night pictures in front of illuminated objects like the castle, or Pirates of the Caribbean. Anything relying on a strong flash or fast shutter speed will be better with the photographers camera. I like at least a few pictures of my kids in front of the illuminated castle (with some color differentiation!) and I definitely don't have the camera to do it! The photopass has been a great addition to Disney, imho!

99 bucks to preorder... vs...149 if you wait..
u do the math LOL
anyhow we did it twice and loved it.
awesome pix. our kids are little. we wouldnt have been able to get those photos of the entire family without the help of the photographers.

YES! The photopass people get our entire party in and we get pictures that we would not ordinarily get. I love it!

We are leaving next week, when did you receive the pre order offer??

You "receive" a pre order offer anymore. You can now go to the Photopass website and pre order. You'll get an e-mail acknowledging your pre order with instructions on what to do when you're ready to order your CD. Be sure to put that e-mail in a safe place!

It was worth it for our family on our last trip. It was nice to have a bunch of photos with the whole family and the magic shots still make my girls smile.
