Is POR as spread out as CBR?

I really disliked CBR because of how spread out it is and how long it took to get out of the resort due to soooo many bus stops, well I'm considering POR for our next trip but I'm worried that I'll run into the same issues that I had with CBR. Is it as spread out?

I'd appreciate any information I can get!!!

Great question, I've been wondering exactly how large this resort is, I've read that CSR is also very spread out but POR feels smaller but is actually larger.

Here are some numbers I found in my "Unofficial Guide": CBR has 2112 rooms, POFQ has 1008, POR has 2048 and CSR has 1965.

I realize that number of rooms doesn't affect how spread out a resort is, but it is interesting that CBR has the most. I think something else to take into consideration is that CBR and CSR both surround large lakes (the one at CBR is 45 acres) which makes getting anywhere take forever!!

This is how I rank the moderates:
POFQ (smallest), then PORS, then CBR and the largest/most spread out resort IMHO is CSR.

CBR and CSR are somewhat close in size but I believe that PORS is a bit smaller than both of those. However, the buses work almost the same way having to circle the resort before leaving plus it also has one extra stop in POFQ.

Now I am generally not bothered by a 5 to 7 minute walk at best from the front bus drop off point around PORS. I like to stay in the mansions as they are pretty close to everything (about 5 minutes to main building and 2/3 minutes to ole man island). Now my personal experience with buses from the mansion (last bus stop) weren't great for heading to the MK so I would tell you to go to the main bus stop for MK or any park that you are heading to with some sort of reservation. POFQ is also picked up and dropped off first so you also need to be aware that if the bus fills up there it will not make the stop at RS. Additionally, this also works at the stops around RS property. So let's say that the bus picks up for MK at FQ then main stop at RS and then the first RS stop by bayou homes and fills up. The bus isn't going to stop at the rest of the stops around the resort as there isn't any more room on the bus so you'll have to wait for the next one. However, for the most part this seems to be when the resort is full around the holidays but may occasionally happen on another day or two here or there.

I wouldn't think twice about staying at PORS but then again, the spread out resorts don't worry me as I love CSR.

Why don't you look into PO-FQ? It is just about joined to PO-Riverside and is very compact. We are staying there on our next trip (in 2 days!)

I've stayed at both CBR and POR and POR is no way as spread out as CBR. You can't get a room a little "out there" from the food court/main building and pool, but the walk is somehow more enjoyable and it's not as far as the far reaches of CBR.

The bus stops are quicker at POR too! One way to avoid any wait is to only utilize the bus stop at the main building. We would always catch our bus there after a beautiful walk through Alligator Bayou, looking at rabbits, chipmunks, birds etc.

We usually caught a light breakfast at the food court and hopped on a bus. The nightmare stories about long waits are most likely only during major peak weeks like school vacations etc. In the afternoon or evening we would get off at the main building and either hop in the pool, which is great, check out the reservation situation at Boatwrights for dinner, grab a quick snack at the food court or maybe feed the ducks at the boat ramp.

You will love it, it's totally different than CBR

Thanks for the responses!! I thought about POFQ but I don't know I just don't care for the theming. WL is actually our first choice but I decided I had better have a moderate chosen for a back up in case we can't get a decent rate!! I've been trying to decide between POR and CSR. My dd's (9 & 10) saw pictures on allearsnet and thought the playground and pool at CSR looked cool!! Oh the decisions!
