Is Pool View Building at WH Noisy?

I'm another person trying to decide on which of the many available Windsor Hills condos to rent for my family's April '08 vacation. My DH is insisting that we have a "nice" view from the lanai (he really means either lake view or no parking lot view) and high-speed internet access. I'm not sure if my DH considers pool view to be "nice", :) but before I show him the pictures of a pool view condo, can anyone tell me if you hear a lot of noise from the pool area inside these condos?

Many thanks!

We have rented lake view the past 2x which I thouroughly enjoyed! I loved to sit on the lanai in the morning and drink my coffee! Next time around we are renting a pool view( The same people we normally rent from own both, but lake niew was taken for our dates  ) so I am unsure of the noise level for pool view now, but will know in 5 months!!!;)

Hi - I can't answer your question - yet! I am renting a pool view condo (top floor) in Nov. I'm hoping it's not too noisy - I am working on the fact that most people (me included!!) will be out at WDW or elsewhere during the day. I believe the pool closes at 8pm (??) anyway, so that should rule out any late night noise.
I'll try to remember to let you know when I get back!
Have fun planning

I was going to add, most of the pools close early. So, you may have some daytime and early evening noise. Though I'd imagine it's not too bad. The place isn't usually packed to capacity at any given time either.

The Windsor Hills Resort pool, clubhouse, sundry shop, game rooms, fitness center, rec areas, playgrounds (there are more than 1 now!), etc, are open every day from 8am - 10pm. This is a great thing, since many places have much more limited hours, you have more choices and flexibility as to when you would wish to use the facilities. The pool is mostly empty during the evenings of course, as most people are there during the daytime hours, but it's nice to be able to go sit in the hot tub if you choose to! :thumbsup2

Mainebound, I think the new playground is at the top of Teascone in the new section. People who stayed in the same house that we're staying in took a picture of it and sent it to me and from her description it's up past Jura/Gigha villas and just before Teascone curves to the right. On the WH Reserve map it shows a triangle of grass in that area so I think it's there but George can correct me if I'm wrong. It's not as elaborate as the castle playground.

Thank you all so much! My DH thinks I'm absolutely nuts because I'm stressing about this condo choice so much (losing sleep, actually:eek: ). I think that we've finally decided on a fourth floor lake view condo. I think that the noise level would be fine for us with a pool view, but my DH took one look at the lake view condo and said, "That's the one!"

Thanks again!

Don't stress out over it too much, the whole resort is gorgeous, if you like the pictures and the place you're considering, chances are, it will be much nicer in person (we hear this all the time!).

Since the whole place is basically brand new, it's very hard to make a bad decision. Just make sure you're happy with the home and the owners you're working with and you will have a great vacation! We did the same ourselves a few years back, we had the best vacation as a family we've had anywhere, EVER, and loved it so much we ended up buying there! You'll be amazed too at how much of a place you get at these rates, it's really a steal at what rates it rents for. Enjoy! On with the WDW trip planning, get those ADRs made! :)

I rented a pool view condo last april and it was a bit noisy until 9 or 10pm. Not too bad though. The view was worth it. I think you will be happy anywhere at WH. Have a wonderful time. It is amazing the amount of room you get all for the price of a hotel room. I loved coming home with clean clothes!!:laundy:

There are actually TWO new playgrounds going in right now! They are smaller and not as elaborate as the main one, but near the new reserve section. I'm not 100% clear on the exact locations, but just heard about it myself.

Here's a picture!

thanks George. that looks great. And variety is the spice of life as they say.

To the OP: We haven't stayed in a condo at WH but we have been at the pool in the late evening and it was not a loud atmosphere -- and it was spring break, to boot.

I think you will really enjoy WH. We are going back next year.

This is just our third trip to WDW (and obviously our first experience with a place like Windsor Hills), but my DH already knows the drill and commented just the other night that he was REALLY looking forward  to the next phase of my trip planning: ADRs!

Anyway, I don't know what I'd do without these boards, and I'm sure we will thoroughly enjoy the resort!
