Is POFQ quiet and nice?

I've been planning on staying at CSR but only if I can get a room in the Casitas because I love how quiet it is, how nice the quiet pool is and how great it is to just go to a courtyard and chill out. Since the Casitas is just a request and not guaranteed I was thinking that it might be better to stay at POFQ.

So how is it over at POFQ? Could I chill out in some courtyard with a fountain nearby? Is the pool overly crowded? Will there be lots of kids running around? What do you think of POFQ?

The big advantage for CSR is the Casitas and quiet pool. The food court(love beignets), the lounge at night, the smaller resort and going to POR to see Bob at night are all advantages to be for POFQ.

BTW this will be for a trip during the first 2 weeks on May 2011.

Yes it is nice a quiet. And very beautiful too. Even staying there over Spring Break I was able to find a quiet spot on a bench in a courtyard all by myself and just relax.

First of all, are you related to Doc Sears (Kingsville years ago)? Just had to ask.

As for POFQ, yes it is quiet. My dh needs quiet and this is where we go. I haven't sat around a fountain or a courtyard but it seems to me (and I could be wrong) that most of these areas are DSAs now. Maybe check a map and see. There are nice benches along the river. The early morning is beautiful as you watch the day come to life. Mist over the river, flocks of birds rising up from the trees, absolutely wonderful.

We stayed at POFQ for the 1st time in May 09. Loved it. Small, quiet, nice food court etc. We are staying there again in Sept. The only thing we found "busy" was the pool at mid day.

POFQ doesn't have a quiet pool and it's a small resort, so I don't think there's as many quiet spots as CSR, or even POR. It is a quieter resort because it is smaller. There are a few places to chill out. Not the pool though. CSR is bigger, I like Ranchos, and the hammocks at the Cabanas. POR is my favorite for quiet spots, they're all over there, a lot are shaded, near water.

I LOVE the quiet and peacefulness of POFQ. Remember, you can use all the facilities of POR and it is only a short walk or boat ride away. I believe Buildings 6 and 7 are the quietest as they are situated farthest away from the Food Court and pool area, but not too far. I really appreciate it small size of the resort as well. Having only the one bus stop is a big plus--when buses are shared with POR, the FQ is the first stop. The boat ride to Downtown Disney is very relaxing as well as beautiful. :thumbsup2

POFQ was our first on property stay and it is still my Fav:lovestruc It is quiet, beautiful, easy to get around and peaceful. I love the boat to DTD nice relaxing ride.

I think it is a perfect choice for a relaxed vacation stay.

Take care:goodvibes

We were in building 1 at FQ. It was facing the parking lot and one of the farthest rooms from the front, but it was very quiet. The walk to the food court and bus stop wasn't bad. You could walk around the back along the river promenade and enter the pool from the back gate. it was a very short walk.

We have stayed at CSR (2009) and POFQ (this year). Both are great.

CSR has nicer rooms with the queen beds. My family liked Pepper Market, and the Dig Site pool is superior. You can order food and drinks poolside, which is nice. There are quiet pools at each "village". The atmosphere was serene, and we enjoyed the quiet after long days in the parks. We had a great time at CSR, but it was a bit of a walk from our room (Ranchos) to the front of the resort.

POFQ is much smaller, so walking from any one point to another is a snap. The atmospere here is also serene. We liked the theme and landscaping - it seemed more intimate and also more shaded. The room we were in was spotless and well-maintained, but the decor is in need of an update, IMHO. (I probably wouldn't have thought this if we hadn't seen CSR first.) The pool area is very nice, and it was less-crowded than CSR's pool during our stay. There are no quiet pools, but we didn't really miss that. The boat to Downtown Disney is a very nice feature. The food court is good, but not equal to the Pepper Market.

We would happily stay at either resort. It's such a personal choice, but if I had to choose one over the other, I would pick POFQ by a slim margin. I hope this helps!

Thanks al lot guys! I love CSR but I really think I'll be swapping over to POFQ. It sounds like it'll be just as nice for me other then missing the quiet pool.

We'll be there in 18 days. Our first trip and we all need that quiet, relaxing atmosphere! Can't wait!

I did POFQ 4 years ago during 4th of July, one of the hottest and busiest times of the year, and even then it was quiet and peaceful, especially in Building 7. Buildings closer to the pool can be noisier.

We stayed this past June/July for the first time. We found it VERY quiet and VERY peaceful.

It is a pretty resort...I think you will find it lovely. :)

From the furthest building at POFQ it is not more than a 5 to 7 minute walk to the bus stop or food court.
So buikding 6 or 7 - water or courtyard view will be quiet and lovely.
Enjoy a night time walk on the cobblestone 'streets' with the 'gas' lights and iron horse rings.

Have fun !

It is a very quiet, calm, gorgeous, relaxing resort :cloud9: Its small size makes it a great fit after long hours in the parks :tinker:

We were there for one night and switched to Pop since that is what we had planned.

We really liked POFQ, and it was much quieter and peaceful. The pool wasn't too bad, there were a few people but it was pretty nice to sit outside. I wanted to fall asleep right there! We were farther from the food court (not too far, the walk to get there was nice) so that might have impacted it, but we hardly saw a lot of people walking around either.

We have stayed at POFQ twice and love it!! We had planned to stay there again for our upcoming trip, but got a great rate at the Poly and we've always wanted to stay there. The POFQ really is very calm and quiet (not close to the pool necessarily). The grounds are beautiful and we always see people sitting on benches reading or people watching. Enjoy!!

On our first trip with the family, we stayed in All Stars Movies, and we really enjoyed it. But for our second trip I thought I'd throw a sweetner to my skeptical DW by upgrading to a moderate resort. After a lot of back and forth on which moderate resort to stay at, we (DW, DD8 and DS6) all agreed POFQ looked great, and the reviews were virtually unanimous in describing POFQ as great. So that's where we stayed.

We when we got there we were greeted by a great greeter (I think Chris is his name), and from there on we had nothing but a great stay. We stayed in building 6, and even though we paid for a standard room, we got a river view. I would echo the other posters that seeing the river in the morning is amazing as the fog comes off the water. Also, we all just loved the night time boat ride from DTD.

Everything is so close, and it is very quiet. I think it would be misleading to say the pool is completely quiet, but compared to the pool at All Stars Movies, which was much larger, the pool at POFQ was wonderful.

There are great places to sit and relax and just watch the world go by. We also especially loved walking on the path along the river. The resort is small, and that really is a benefit. I think POFQ is like a well kept secret (except for those of us on this board).

I loved POFQ, and even my skeptical DW agrees that for our next stay, we should stay there.

If you stay at POFQ, you don't have to go POR for entertainment. Check out Elliot Dyson at the Scat Club off the POFQ lobby Wed thru Sat nights. He is excellent - plays all types of music and several instruments including several saxes, steel drums, keyboard, flute, electronic wind instrument. No matter what resort we stay at, we always stop by POFQ to see him in the evening.
If you only need one bed, you can upgrade to a king at POFQ. We did and the room seemed so spacious.
