Wanted to stay last December when we traveled but told it was under refurb until early 05.

Wondered if it is open or if they anticipate it being open by fall/holiday time this year, because I see some have reservations there.

Has anyone been there with the refurb complete and how would you compare it to what it was like prior?

Thanks!

It reopened March 21st of this year, we don't go until July though, so I'm not sure how it compares. There are quite a few threads from people who just returned, they all seemed pretty happy:p
Check out Deb's site she has some new pictures.

Thanks so much! That is one place I really wanted to stay at last year but it was closed :(

Glad it is open this year. That is my last moderate resort to stay at. I did enjoy Riverside very much and I assume it is very comparable since it is the "sister" hotel.

Stayed at POFQ over spring break. It was all so new and clean and wonderful.

It was our first stay there and really enjoyed it.

Port Orleans French Quarter is very much open, as I am there right now! :teeth: Resort is fully functional and the rooms are beautiful! I think this is my favorite moderate for now on! :)

I am so glad it is open and has been redone. I have read such great things about it on here. Looking forward to our stay there in July. We have never stayed there before.

We stayed at POFQ during part of spring break. The rooms are so beautiful! It was already our favorite resort, so peaceful, and now it is even better!

We ate at the food court 3 or 4 times, for lunch. Since it was so crazy and noisy during Easter Week, we went over to POFQ for some peace and quiet for lunch even though we were staying at PC part of the time. I had cheesesteak, it was really good, and a grilled cheese, also good. DH had pizza a couple of times, and something else, but I don't remember what. Sure would like a Mickey Rice Krispie treat right now!! They had other things, too, but we didn't try them. New layout is much better than the old way. As a matter of fact, DH and I were on our way home from my brother's in Miami when we decided to stop at DTD, then go to POFQ for something to eat. While there, we made a spur of the moment decision to check in for one more night! So glad we did!

Hi: We just came back from 4 nights there, and 5 at the poly. It was our first stay at frenchquarter, been to riverside manor rooms before. It is now our new fav moderate resort.

The rooms just blew us away, the colours, the beautiful bedspreads (you have to see it all in person to appreciate it) The furniture, the carpeting was pretty as well, and the ceramic tiled floor around the sinks, nice small little tiles green and off white, the curtain in the sink area to divide the room for dressing is a great asset to any resort. I couldn't get over the fact that the television was a 27 inch screen compared to the more expensive poly resort with a 20inch screen, (not that we watched alot of tv but the news at bedtime) .

We had two connecting rooms during our stay, and the beds were very comfy,

The grounds were so pretty we just loved this resort, lots of shade that is what I was wondering about as I cannot tolerate heat. We would def go there again, just loved our stay last week.

Deb.
