Is pleasure island closed down or closing down? does anyone know if there will be a new area there instead! Also is it just pleasure island or does it go further down towards the virgin store and disney games arcade?:thumbsup2

Hi Emma,
all pleasure island nightclubs are now closed but the island itself is open to walk through. There is still Raglan Road, some stores, and the plan is to put in more restaurants and stores:confused3 So yes you can walk through down to Westside which is where the Virgin Store and Disneyquest is but it is still deemed separate.

Any news yet on the balloon which is going there? I love the one at DLP - it will be cool to see other parks and rides in the distance. We were hoping it would be done for May but doubt it really.

We could see them building the dock for it from our room at Saratoga, it is at the far end near Cirque de Soleil, there was a sign up at West Side advertising its opening, I cant be positive but I am sure that it said Spring 2009.

The Downtown Disney drivers were calling Pleasure Island "whats left of it". There were signs up for a new restaurant just down from The Adventures Club, called Street Flavours of America or something along those lines, it looks like it will have a terrace overlooking the water. Each time I passed the Adventurers Club, I bowed in honour :rotfl2:

Thanks - there may be a chance for May yet. Also DH is mightily disappointed that the AC is now gone (closed about 3 weeks after we visited last year) - we may do a few bows of honour ourselves.
