Is Pizzafari any good? Is there anywhere for good Pizza in WDW?

I am used to NY/CT style pizza, and I know that is nearly impossible to get in FL. Sorry - it just seems to be the case. That said, is Pizzafari any good? I have heard descriptions of different rooms to view so it sounds like the atmosphere is fun. Can anyone provide any feedback on this place?

Pizzafari is one of my least favorite CS restaurants at WDW (admittedly, I'm not a big fan of most of them). The pizza is edible, but that's about as far as I'll go, and it's usually crowded and a bit of a mess. Pizza Planet at DHS is pretty much the same with different theming; although for some reason I think their pizza is a little better than at Pizzafari.

Pizzafari is my favorite CS place to eat at AK, but I never get their pizza. I get their Hot Italian Deli sandwich and a pint of Nestle's chocolate milk - yumm!

I like the flatbread pizza at Spoodles. Otherwise - go offsite to Giordano's or Pizzeria Uno's.

I agree! Pizzafari is my favorite counter at AK and probably in my top 5 of counters. And the Italian deli sandwich is to die for! Gotta have one every trip! Husband says he barely remembers the pizza....not good enough to make an impression I guess.

I agree about the hot italian sandwich! Yummy! For pizza, your best bet is to get a flatbread at the resort, or a TS restaurant. If you're used to good NY pizza, I'd say enjoy Disney's other offerings.

Pizzafari is my very favorite counter service restaurant in all of WDW. It's cool, colorful and the food is good too!:thumbsup2

We will have deluxe dining next trip and Pizzafari is one of the only CS places we plan to go to. We really enjoy the atmosphere. The pizza was just Ok. We love the chicken parm & italian sandwich.

I am also from NY with family in CT (are you near Dominics by chance) and have to say that I have yet to have pizza in WDW that we can say we really liked. Most is Ok, but certainly not like what we get here at home!

We do the typical New Haven pizza (Sally's, Pepe's, Modern), and I really love Lil Rondevous (sp?) in Meriden- old style brick oven pizza. Where is Dominics?

I will have to convince DW to go to Pizzafari for the sandwiches and the atmosphere- pizza for dinner when we get home! :goodvibes

Dominecs is in Waterbury. My DH grew up there & sometimes we just have to have an excuse to head over to pick up pizza! :rotfl:

Yes, definitely Pizzafari for the Chicken Parm Sandwich & atmosphere!

Haven't been to the New Haven area so I am not familiar iwth any of those but for sure there isn't much old style brick oven pizza in WDW ... or I should say that I haven't really come across any. Haven't had pizza at Spoodles though and have read that that isn't bad. May have to try a slice just to see this year!

We will definitely have to get over Dominic's. Waterbury is a short drive away!

OK - so no good pizza in WDW. I've had the flatbread at Spoodles - not too bad. worth eating for sure, just not real pizza. We had a great flatbread at CG last time there - DW just reminded me of that!

DH knows Pepes! He says now that you reminded him we will have to take a drive out there! : )

We are trying Cali Grille this trip and looking forward to the Flatbread. I am sure it will be great but not like 'real' pizza!

have a great trip!

Most pizza at WDW is the premade individual kind, and is usually available only in cheese or pepperoni.

There's flatbreads at some of the nicer restaurants, but they are not like traditional pizza.

My 6yo nephew had a great cheese pizza from the kids menu at Coral Reef. He loves pizza and easily devoured the entire thing. Being a Philly family we too know good pizza. :thumbsup2

I try to avoid the pizza in Florida as much as possible. I too am a fan of New Haven pizza (although Papa's in Milford is my favorite). I find what Disney sells to be okay, but it's way too doughy for my liking.

It really is the water down there that effects the dough. I have family that moved to Florida years ago, and are constantly complaining about the lack of good pizza and bread down there. Whenever they come up to visit all they want is pizza and bread.:rotfl:

I love that Italian Sandwich!!! It is so good. Max loves just about any pizza, so he is very happy with his meal too. I didn't try the pizza, but I assume it's the same as the stuff at Toy Story's Pizza Planet. I had the veggie pizza there and it was fine, but nothing to rave about.

I am from NYC also and I have never had good pizza at a CS restaurant. It is edible, but it reminds me of Dominos.

I have had pizza at Pizza Planet and Everything Pop and they were pretty much the same.
