Have reservations for my DH, ds4, DS6, myself and my MIL at both the PVI and the Del Sol for Aug 21-29. I'm trying to decide which one to stay at.

We have the bunk bed and 2 queens reserved at both. We've stayed at the del sol twice and liked it. It's been years since we were at the PVI. The PVI is $280 more total then the del sol, including the resort fee and parking fee at the del sol.

I originally reserved PVI because of the breakfast, baskets, social hour, fruit, free water and cookies, and birthday gifts. They have since discontinued most of those perks.

I guess I'm looking for someone that has stayed at both. I have poured over reviews, which is only making the decision harder! Thanks for your input!

I have never stayed at Del Sol, but have stayed at The Park Vue several times. We are very happy with Park Vue. Since the prices have continued to rise and they recently discontinued some perks, I always price compare to nearby hotels. We are a family of 6 so we need a suite. The breakfast alone saves us about $40 a day, so as long as Park vue's rate is within that I still book. The staff is great, parking is a breeze (no parking fee), and breakfast is sufficient. We are going in Nov and I did check out Del Sol. The rooms look updated and clean. One thing I heard was the parking was tight & limited, but they do have valet. Park Vue still came within $40 a night for us. So I think if the breakfast is not something your family would utilize, and won't be using your car too much, Del sol is a good option.

I think it depends on how much time you plan to spend there. We've done Del Sol, and it is great for us because we literally come in just to crash at night. Wake up, shower, and eat a piece of toast while walking to the parks in the morning. If that's your plan, I'd save the money and use it for something like special dinner or cool souvenir.

For our upcoming trip though, we are opting to stay at Fairfield Inn, because my DMIL is coming with us. She's not quite the theme-park commando that I am, so it was important to have a little bit nicer pool, etc. The rooms are nicer if we want to come back for a break, etc. So I think it just depends on what your style will be this trip!

My kids will be staying at PVI starting Sunday so I will get a good impression when I check them in, for DW and I the hotel is part of the experience, most people spend at least 40% of the time in the hotel/motel and we like to kick back...but trust me when we get to the parks we go....This year I am going to stop and smell the roses more and take more time to appreciate what Walt conceived.

I've stayed at both and I would save the $280.00 for churros!! LOL!! Seriouosly, there isn't much difference in the two hotels. PVI is a little closer, but not enough to make that much difference, and they do have a free breakfast and free parking.

I've only stayed at Del Sol once and our rooms were a lot bigger than the ones at PVI. The only reason I would lean towards PVI is if was going to save you a lot on breakfast and parking. Otherwise, there really isn't much difference.

Thank you! This is what I wanted to know. The $280 more for PVI was after taking in consideration the parking and resort fees of the del sol. I don't think the 5 of us will eat $35 worth of breakfast, especially with us bringing a lot of food with us.

Thanks! I booked the Del Sol for our visit mid Nov. They serve bfast (at least cereal, coffee and milk), we'll park when we arrive and then walk from the hotel to the parks and DTD. We aren't there to swim or enjoy the hotel, just a home base (pref w/ fridge) for our days in the parks :).

Feeling good about our choice!

If you're looking for a close, home base, I think you'll be pleased with your choice, julieheyer. I forgot Del Sol does have a breakfast. Nothing to write home about, but something to fill your stomach until you get to the park. Have fun!
