We have reservations for brunch at Palo's. I made reservations for 4. My mother dislikes buffets. Are there items she can order from a menu or is it all serve yourself?

Either way, 3 of us are going. I'm just hoping my mom will want to join us.

Thank you.

I think I've read that it is a mixture of both. There are buffet items available and also a menu that you can order from. Nearly ALL reviews of Palo are glowing. I'm sure you'll all be well pleased!

It is a little of both. Your main entree is ordered and they bring it over. They have a fabulous selection of cold items for you to choose from, but it's not set up like a traditional buffet. It's set out on tables in areas by what they are serving. Breads/pastries in one area, desserts in another, salad, meats, shrimp, crab claws, etc are in another. It is wonderful and even if she is not a fan of buffets this is very unlike a regular buffet.

It's kind of both. There isn't a menu per se, but they do bring some of the food to you. The "appetizers" and cold salads are set out on a table and you serve yourself, as well as the desserts and breads. But the hot entrees (eggs benedict/omelets as well as lunch-type food), pizzas, soups, and some other things are prepared individually and brought to your table.

Your server takes you on a tour and explains the options. You help yourself to the buffet items, and then order the other things from him/her.

It is kind of hard to understand until you do it. Without knowing the reasons why your mother dislikes buffets, it's hard to estimate how she will enjoy the experience. All I can say is ... it is WONDERFUL -- the food is outstanding, the service is unbelievable.

It is a partial buffet but if she is worried about getting in line to get food, don't worry because there is never a line to get the appetizers and the food is far from buffet type food. It is all sorted out very attractively and getting food is very convenient. If she still does not want to get up for food, the waiters will be more than happy to prepare a sampling of the items for her.

Your Mother will be just fine. First off - I have issue with buffets a lot because of health and hygene concerns - this one is beautiful, clean, stunning - including ice scupltures.

Second - yes, they have entrees you order just like a non-buffet setting, so if she wants to avoid the buffet all-together she will still have tons to eat

they even have brick oven pizza

some of the choices for entree when we were there included breakfast item like pancakes, lunch items like pasta, tenderloin, fish, and more

there were shrimp and alaskan king crab on the buffett, a huge selection of cheese, crackers, antipasta stuff.

of course you are handed champage as you arrive !! (one glass included with the buffet)
enjoy!

We really enjoyed brunch at Palo. I just wish they'd have a breakfast AND a lunch because there are so many wonderful choices for each type of meal that it's really hard to choose. Since our reservation was for around noon, we ended up choosing lunch type of food. I had the filet mignon and it was very, very good. No matter what you have, make sure to try the fruit stollen (it's a kind of bread) with the fresh whipped cream. It was amazing and my DH and I still talk about it! :teeth:

Thank you for all of the helpful information. I believe most of her dislike is due to health & hygiene concerns. So long as she can order off of the menu she'll be set. Sounds like she may even be tempted to try the buffet portion.
