Ok through a heated debate with my wife she is not interested in DVC membership even though she did no research on the program. SSR is not where I would like my home resort to be anyways; Due to the fact that I am not a DTD fan and prefer to be closer to a theme park. The more and more DVC members the harder it will be to book 7 months out. I looked at many resales that were listed and most are stripped or above what I want to pay.

My questions are;

Once SSR is at a certain level of occupancy will they open a new location?

Has anyone been here since the DVC program started in 1991 and there were no properties to be sold? (example was there a break between OKW and whatever came after it)

If so How many months was it this way?

Does DVC always work on one property at a time?

Maybe I am just getting cold feet because I went through the approval for financing and the financing was sky high APR. DW is non-supportive, DF and DM wish they never took me to disney. Thinking the timing is just poor right now. :guilty:

I would love to take advantage of AK or CR DVC if the rumors are true, and DW would like that more as well.

I looked at DVC over 10 years ago and have gone back and looked every couple of years since. I bought with Starwood Vacation Network three years ago and have had nothing but great experiences with them. This combined with the current referral incentives for DVC (only $86pp) prompted me to check on DVC again. This time I purchased, just this morning actually. My guide said there is some BWV inventory available at the $86/pp level. Maybe those would work for you.

As for AK DVC or CR DVC, I really believe the next DVC will be in Disneyland, finally. Lots of rumors floating around. My guide said they have a meeting later this week with an important announcement to follow.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions for a fellow long-time looker!

Actually, 15 years ago was the right time, but we hadn't even gone to WDW for the first time then. We did buy in 1997 and paid about $50 a point for our first 175 points. When we bought, we could buy OKW, BWV, VB or HH.

So all 4 were available in 1997. I think they will wait until they are almost maxed out at SSR because once the one of other DVC locations everyone else has been speculating about opens; DVC would have to slash prices to release the remaining inventory there. I wish I joined 15 years ago but seeing they do not let 14 year olds into legally binding contracts and my gross income at that time was 12,500 at the supermarket; I had little control over it.

If this is true, I would have to argue that maybe this IS the right time. Typically, sold out resorts (onsite at WDW) have not been eligible for discounts. This would be a really good opportunity to say the least!!
