Is Nick Hotel worth one quick night?

Wouldn't be arriving there until almost Noon (after leaving Port Canaveral and ending our Magic cruise!), checking out the next morning to get to the airport by 8:30 a.m.

It's a Saturday night, the week after Easter... if the slides close at 7:00 (is that year round?) and we have to be at the airport so early the next morning... is it worth the cost?

Other options are to stay at POFQ for that night OR stay at the airport (least favorite option). What would you do? :confused3

Well, it depends on your kids and their ages. We just came back from 2 nights at Nickhotel (after spending 3 nights at Hard Rock). The kids loved it! When I asked them what their favorite part of the trip was, they said Nickhotel; the park days (3 at Universal and 1 at MK) came second! I say, when you check in, make reservations for the later evening shows (they had Slime Time Live at 7 and Who Knows Best? at 8:30). Get changed and head down to the pool. You can grab something to eat there, or someone can buy from Pizza Hut or something and bring it down. The pool (we only used the Lagoon pool) is outrageous. The first day I took my daughters down there and they didn't come back to the chair for 4 hours straight! The second day they wanted my husband and I to go on the slides with them, and what a blast! It's like going to a waterpark without the long lines and walking. They should have at least one Slimetime style show at the pool while you're there (I think they had 11:30, 2:15 and 4:30), and your kids may get picked to be in the show. When you've had your fill of the pool and slides, dry off and grab a bite to eat and then see the shows. It will be hectic, but lots of fun. Now, if you are looking for relaxing, stay at POFQ.

We stayed there a couple weeks ago before our stay at Disney, and it was a Saturday night. It was so unbelievably crowded it was hard to have fun. We checked in around 10 am and all the shows for the night were full already. The food court was packed, you couldn't find a chair by the pools without a towel draped on it (dh finally got sick of walking and just moved some towels and we sat - nobody ever came back), and there were lines for the slides so long that my kids didn't want to wait more than once.

In talking to other people, we found out that they advertise special deals for FL residents and most of them were local staying just the one night. If it hadn't been so crowded, it would have been a lot more fun. Also the room was very nice and it was pretty quiet - we were on the 3rd floor.

So just be aware that it may be very crowded when you go! You wil appreciate the serenity of your cruise after spending a night there! :rotfl:

Thanks! How old are your kids?

Thanks... this isn't the first time I've read how crazy Saturday nights are!
