Is Nemo worth the wait?

Hi all! Long time lurker, first time poster :)
I want to preface my question by mentioning that I'm no stranger to long lines, I'm an AP, and waited over three hours last summer on opening day for Pirates (we were lined up on Main Street!), and nearly as long for Monsters Inc- I was there opening week for that one. I've been holding out on riding Nemo after hearing about the crazy crowds, but I haven't read much about the actual ride itself. I don't need a play-by-play of what happens, but me and my husband have been debating going to DL just to go to Nemo, and I'm curious as to whether we should. I'll be honest, I was a little dissappointed by Monsters Inc, it's very cute for children, but I was hoping they'd do more than just give it the normal Snow White/Pinnochio style treatment.
So to those of you who have ridden Nemo, how does it stack up compared to other attractions?

We like Nemo, we like Monsters Inc. too though (I love those style rides!). Personally I wouldn't wait beyond an hour for it. It's got a lot of cool technology, making it different from the old sub ride and a lot of the rides they have at DL. We thought it was very cool, but not worth 3-4 hours, no!

If you get there at opening and follow the crowd (there's not much choice in direction as CMs are waving everyone the same way for Nemo) then you can be off the ride in under an hour (it's a twenty minute ride). I enjoyed the ride, but would I wait hours for it? Of course not, I wouldn't do that for any ride. But I have many fond memories of riding Subs and this version uses some of the same dialogue so that was a nice treat. All in all, fun and worth doing (as long as you do it first thing).

Thanks for the info :) I'm really excited for Nemo, the old subs as I remember them were great. Just to clarify, I like the Monsters Inc ride, I think my disappointment came from partially from waiting three hours in the heat, haha.

I thought I read somewhere that they were closing the line for Nemo a few hours before the park closes, can anyone verify if is this true?

is there a fast pass for nemo? I am going this weekend

Yeah, we'd heard that they didn't do fp, but can you line up right until midnight? Or do they stop the line early since it's such a long wait?

Yeah I think I'd be disappointed in any RIDE, especially when they just last a few minutes, after waiting 3 hours for it! :)

It really is a great ride, but yeah I'm not sure any ride is worth waiting in the heat that long! :)

Nemo is not worth the wait(3-5 hours last week). Save our time at DLR and do the other rides instead. Do nemo in the fall when things die down.

im doing it ee day, but im glad im not gona be there till nov by then it will probley be more died down

According to a recent press release, they are allowing a 2 hour line to remain past closing. So, if you are under the 2 hour mark at midnight, you should be good.

We were blessed to only wait 20 minutes - and that was to actually to wait for it to start running - we were amongst the first people loaded (more to come when I get the time to start writing up my Trip Report). We enjoyed it, a lot, but I would not wait more than an hour for it.

I remember as a kid waiting 3+ hours for space mountain the year it opened....

The queue is shorter at the very start of early entry. The subs started running at about 7:30. The CM's need to check the subs are running properly first.

To get in the queue I;
made sure I was First in line for the Monorail. 6:20am
Rode in the left seat of the first car, by the door. 7:00am
Ran to the end of the normal queue line. 7:10am
Queue at this point already contains a number of people who have run from the main gate. The Monorail exit is right above the loading dock for nemo.
Queue starts moving at 7:30
Ride at 8:00. :cool1:

16 minute ride and absolutely beautiful.

Line at other times is at best 2 hours and at worst 4. They snake the line back around the Matterhorn bobsleds.

If you don't have early entry, don't try to ride it on an early entry day running from the main gate.

We went one afternoon and lucked out. We got in line at 3:00 and onto the ride at 4:05.

The ride is really great, and I think that if you're an AP, the line is worth it. Maybe not so much for someone who can't come back often, because that is a big chunk of time to take out of your day at DL.

They allow you to leave children in strollers in the line, so I kept DD in her stroller with the sun visor open for shade, and she watched movies on our portable DVD player. We had snacks and drinks (the cupholder in the stroller came in handy!), and I read a book while we waited.

We rode it the week after it opened. We really liked it. At the time the wait was 4 1/2 hours. I wouldn't wait that long. DH has a GAC so we got right on. I think I would wait an hour at the most for this ride.

we rode it sunday night got in line at 11:15pm and rode at 12:05am, riding that late waiting isn't bad cause it is cool outside, to me and my husband it was cute ride, but not worth waiting for over an hour to ride..

hopefully if all goes well, I will be down there in a couple weeks, and I really want to go on Nemo! From what I've heard from friends, it was awesome! Can't wait!

I do not have time to read all the replies (still at DLR but we are checking out this morning) but I would say that I can see a real possibility of disappointment with Nemo Subs after a 3 hour wait. I am not sure of what your tolerance level is, but IMHO if you can do it with a 90-120 minute wait it will be worth it for most people for a first ride but not a second. My prediction is that in 3-6 months the line will drop to 45-75 minutes because, while fun, the ride is not of the caliber of a Soarin Over California or Indiana Jones. It is better than Monsters Inc for sure, but not spectacular.
