Is Narcoosees worth the money?

We've got an ADR at Narcoossees on 12/8/07 at 7:15pm so i'll post back a review during that week, if not that day. Only 15 days to go!:cool1:

Does anybody have reviews on any of the items on the menu?

We thought the food at Narcoossee's was very good, but not worth the money they charge  . However, California Grill's prices are comparable and it is SOOOOOOOOOOO worth the money - food is to DIE for!!! :thumbsup2

My hubby and I ate there in June of this year. It was my first visit ever there eating. Unfortunately, I have to say it was the worst meal and the worst service ever and we were so disappointed. I have no intentions of ever going back and I've never said that about any meal at WDW..ever.. in 12years of trips. Maybe we just hit a bad night. Our server was in la la land the whole time. The view was nice but that was about it. The tables are very close together (or at least the tables for 2 were). The food was about a 6 out of 10 so for all the hype we really felt like we wasted our time and money that night. I just chalk it up to a lesson learned.

Our meal and service at the Turf Club beat this one hands down. Now that meal was a 10!

I hope you have a much better experience there then we did.

best of luck,
Esmerelda

I know we're in the minority on this thread but I have to agree with you as our experience last summer was less than magical...(unless they've changed chefs or mgmt). We loved this place years ago but it recent years we've tried it every now and then and it just has not been the same. We keep hoping but ...nope.

I had ordered salmon last time we went. And for $30 something it just wasn't worth it...at all, it was overcooked and tasteless. Tusker House's salmon for $8 beat it out by a mile (well the old TH anyway). Even the dinner salad was pretty poor with browned lettuce and not much of it. We left pretty disappointed...I'd go to JIKO anyday over Narcoosee's. Now I can say that the trays I saw with the lobster tails looked good, not sure how they tasted but it looked good. I sure hope they were...for $50-$60 a pop.:rolleyes1

My Husband and I had a great meal here in August, in fact it was our favorite of the trip.
They serve tasty bread with a butter topped w/ Hawaiian sea salt.
I had the crab cakes (baked, not pan fried), the scallops, and for dessert, the almond crusted cheesecake (sublime) with a great presspot of coffee.
Everything was fabulous. :thumbsup2
My husband had the caesar salad, the crab crusted halibut, and I think a chocolate cake. I thought my entree was delicious but his was outstanding and I wished I had ordered it instead. Yum.

Our server was fantastic. I can't wait to return here in the spring.

Yes, it is expensive but for us it was worth every penny. We also had a very expensive meal at California Grill which didn't even come close to Narcoosee's and I doubt we'll be returning there anytime soon. :sad2:

OP- I would keep the ADR. I'd love to be going there on Christmas Eve! :goodvibes

Narcoossee's is soooo worth the money! DH and I ate there in May and I have continually said it was the best meal in my ENTIRE life! I had the crab cakes (yummy), surf and turf (oh my goodness), and cheesecake (heaven)!!!

As far as what nightime show to not miss this year it would be Wishes. I know you will see it from Narcoossee's however, we just got back from WDW last night(!) and you need to see it near my castle. princess: You see for the holiday's :santa: my castle has been drapped in lights which makes it look like diamonds! :wizard: It's sooo beautiful. I know you will be giving up one of your favorite shows but my castle won't look like this for very long.

just ate at Narcoosee's on Monday night and it was excellent!!! food was wonderful - adults had swordfish and flounder and kids had steak. had the cheesecake for dessert and it was awesome!!!! our waiter was great - on the ball and attentive to everything, especially considering the fact that one of his tables had 14 at it.

It definately was a great dining experience for us. Everything was great-the service was awesome as was the entire meal. Even the atmosphere was great w/little view-it was pouring pouring rain. Price-well that is a different story-we were there on FREE DINING! We did use 2 credits and I felt it was worth it. DS got the mussells appetizer-it was enough for a meal-ues almond crusted sheesecake was great.

You can't go wrong no matter what you do. If you want to go -go and enjoy and don;t worry about the cost. You know going in what you are paying. Otherwise, there are som many things going on in the world-you won't be disappointed.

Make Sure you tour the lobby-it is unbeatable at Chritmas as far as decor.

Have a great trip and in DR as well!
