Is Narcoosees worth the high prices?

We made a ps reservation there for our next trip, but am somewhat dismayed by their prices. According to a menu I saw on another site the lobster is $49.00. Other entrees range from $24 -$49. Any opinions on the quality of the food? Thanks all!

Price-wise Narcoosee's is right in line with most other WDW resort table service spots. I like it--ate there our last 3 trips and will probably do so again in May.

I think it is worth it. I have always had a great meal there and plus it ususally is not crowded. Enjoy your dinner.

We did not think that this restaurant's quality was in keeping with its' prices. We thought that the food was just okay and I think specifically of the lobster with the "vanilla sauce." This was about one and a half years ago when it was all the rage to serve the "radicchio salade on a palate of cinnamon buerre blanc with a shaving of white truffle and a misting of powdered octopus'" We love adventurous food but felt like Narcoosee's was about one year behind the trends and at that, persisting in the menu fads that were generally unsuccessful elsewhere. I have to stress that we have only eaten at this restaurant once and so this review is limited to our menu choices. Have fun and please post on your return. I'd love to know if the restaurant is a good choice. Threehearts

We haven't been in several years, but I think it was the one of the best meals I've had at Disney - and I can't wait to return. But I don't remember paying any attention to the check (we tend to be "vacation immune" to the check - and my husband takes care of the tip). I love the location in addition to the food. There are other really good restaurants at Disney as well. Narcoosees does get beat up on value in the restuarant reviews, so may not be the best choice if value is a major consideration.

This is one place my DW really enjoys. It is a great place to watch the MK fireworks. My DW is from New Orleans and really likes the food here.

Just a quick post to let you all know how much your replies are appreciated.
I welcome more opinions if anyone else out there wants to venture one. If we do end up there I promise I'll post a review.

We ate there this past Sept. and really enjoyed it.
I believe the prices are similar to Artist Point, Flying Fish and the other nicer sit downs. I had the Shrimp and Lobster pasta dish and it was very good. Also the Butternut Squash and Blue Crab soup is incredible. If you time it right you can see the Electric Water Pagent pass by the windows.

We just ate there 11/30 (DH, mom and myself) and we really enjoyed the food. Mom and I ordered salads (very filling with gorgonzola and pecans -$7) and DH had the squash/crab soup ($8). Then we shared the shrimp pasta dish and seared tuna entree ( I think they were each around $25). It was enough food for me & mom, DH ate more than we did. We loved everything we had, and were full, but servings were not as large as I expected, especially since we shared. Oh, we also had dessert.
We timed PS for the fireworks and even got a window table - NOT necessary since you can go on the porch and watch them. It was beautiful.

Anyone take kids? I'm thinking having Easter dinner here. I'm wondering if an 11 year old will feel out of place. Is this a place that couples tend to pick to try to avoid kids?

When we were there, there were lots of children and they seemed to be welcome. I don't think that I saw the toddler set but maybe they were just extra quiet that night. I didn't think the restaurant had a formal feel to it and our waitstaff was very good and welcoming so I would think that you would be okay. Threehearts

To answer the initial question:

YES! Narcoossee's is definitely worth the price. This was by far one of our favorite restaurants on our recent trip. Service, food and atmosphere were all wonderful.

Disneyjunkie,

To answer your question, there were LOTS of kids there when we had dinner. Frankly, I was surprised at so many kids, simply because it didn't strike me as a "kid-friendly" type of restaurant. It was a bit loud at times, but certainly not a major negative. I'm only guessing that they must have a kids menu.

Enjoy!

We went there for dinner in August and we all decided we loved it. We were staying at the Grand Floridian so of course there is something to be said about the convenience of it all. The tuna I had was almost as good as I had at the Flying Fish - which I considered to be the best. I dont remeber exactly what we spent total but Im sure it was expensive. All good resaurants at WDW are. Like a previous poster put it; it was no more expensive than say the FF or LeCellier, or California Grill.

Oh my gosh...YES, definitely!!! We had that filet and lobster the last time we went, and it melted in our mouths. We can't go everytime we go to WDW, but for a special treat, it is definitely worth it. Try to time it during the MK fireworks--- the view is great. Also, the service is impeccable!

Just another note about my only experience there: our service left a LOT to be desired.
Kids are definitely welcome there, it is not a quiet, romantic place; more of a bustling family restaurant.

We took our DD w/ us, I think all the Disney resturants are okay for kids. I felt the food was on par w/ many of the other Disney Resort Resturants, the atmosphere was great but I did think it was a little over priced--which I think is to be expected while in Disney. We have eaten there twice, the second time we did what I think was called Disney Magic at the time--breakfast & dinner included in the price and the waitress treated us like dirt. Which was very unfortunate b/c my husband is in the resturant business and *usually* tips very well. This is the one time in his life he didn't & we haven't been back since!

I have to agree with your opinion Crisi - if one is looking for value, they might not consider Narcoossees a value. But, that said, their food is terrific, and the service has always been good. And to the poster who mentioned the lobster w/vanilla sauce? I had to LOL at that .. because that's my favorite thing there! LOL

NArcoossee's is a great place to eat. It is noisy at times but nothing too distracting. The price can be a drawback but the food is well worth it. The service staff , well some of them tend to be a bit aloof but the last server we had was awesome. Overall Narcoossees is the tops
