Is MVMCP Worth It?

My DH, DD3 and I will be in WDW Dec 3-12th. We are thinking about buying tickets for the party, but I'm not 100% sure if it's worth the money.

Thanks!

For some people, it is worth twice the price of admission. For others, they wouldn't pay $10 to get in. It's up to each person. I love the party. I've done it three years in a row, and looking at number 4 this coming Dec. I love the festive attitude. I love starting my holidays off in WDW, at MVMCP, and at Epcot. But, if you are going in thinking that there aren't a lot of people, and you'll be able to just walk on the rides and see all the different shows, then you may be in for a shock. I have found that the crowds have gotten larger each year. I don't think it's possible to do all the different holiday shows and do all the rides during the party. I pick and choose. I love the parade, I love the snow falling on Main St., I love the decorations, the shows...everything about it.
If I were you, I would check into it a lot more, then make an educated decision as to whether or not to go. You might want to try checking out some of the MVMCP threads here, on the DIS boards.

I would highly recommend going. What a lot of people don't realize is that you can walk into the park as early as 4:00 pm even though the party doesn't start until 7. This gives you 4 until midnight to enjoy the park. We try to take an easy morning with an early nap and then head to the park.
You just can't beat snow falling on Main Street and watching the Christmas parade. For $40 adults and $30 for kids, I think it is a great savings. And they give out free hot chocolate and cookies. We walked on to all rides except Peter Pan. (We went Dec 20.2006)

There were lots and lots of people at the park!!!! After the first parade, it seemed to settle down.
No one does it like Disney!

first time to WDW and to the party and our family really enjoyed it. But, we planned on splitting up and myself and my two yds's went to the shows and teacups and few other rides while the more adventurous part of our group went and rode the rides. They really were able to get on most with little wait. I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was a very special evening for me and my family. We loved Disney and the Party was one of the fonder memories of the trip.

We went for the first time last year...it was the last day for MVMCP. Personally I don't think I will do it again anytime in the near future. I think it was an awful lot of money for me, DH, DD (23) and DS (18). The lines were very long and I think the CP put me in the Christmas spirit more so than MVMCP. I think my money can be spent on several dinners instead of one night of this event. Again, that is my personal opinion. I think everyone should try it and see how they like it! Enjoy!

I would never do it again. It was a complete waste of our vacation time and money.

YES!

It's so festive and fun. I'd go every year if I could but we alternate each year with MNSSHP.

We've gone 4 times and I'm planning to go again next year.

For us, the parade and fireworks alone are worth the price of admission but the Christmas shows are fun too.

MK is so festive and beautiful in at night in December!

You will get many different opinions so the best thing to do is try it once and decide for yourself.

I would say experience it for yourself at least once.

For us it was a fun filled night as we bought special holiday hats and enjoyed a variety of special character encounters in Adventureland, Tomorrowland, and Fantasyland. Posed for our special CP photo which you receive later by mail...but we did miss out on the hot choclate.

Our perspective is you live once and your children are only this age for a short period of time. Enjoy the times and create the memories...if you have the thought of doing it...just do it, you are on vacation

I think you would find that people's opinions vary based on the night they go. Some nights the party is not very crowded where you can walk onto rides and not have to line up for an hour to get a good viewing of the parades and shows. But some nights it is packed and difficult to see it all.
