Is MVMCP very worth it?

Some people like it, others don't.

I for one love it and have been the last 2 years and plan on going again. The parade is very nice, the enhanced fireworks .....Awesome. Hot Chocolate, cookies and family photos are nice touches.

What I like best is the shows. The night before xmas at galaxy theatre is a don't miss.

You should experience it once, then make up your mind if you would attend again.

Plan the MVMCP for a nonpark day, this way you don't use an admission as you can get into MK at 4:00pm with your MVMCP ticket. Because admission is limited you can do a lot if you plan carefully. I always go early in December as the parks are not normially crowded and it's value season - more bang for the buck.

Everyone has different ideas about whether they like it or not, for us, it was less about the MK attractions, etc and just enjoying the atmosphere of Disney Christmas! It was quite crowded, and not any easier to go on attractions, but we really focused on the decorations and what was special and different about MK at Christmas. The snow on Main Street was truly magical and I remember just sitting on the curb, listening to the music, and looking down Main Street and soaking it all in. I agree MNNSHP parade is better, but MVMCP is still very good.
The photo stations are always crowded and we have found it best to go at the end of the evening if possible-as close to midnight as we can stand- it is virtually line free then.

It was also very cool to see Rudolph fly out of the Castle!!!

This sounds so fun and magical. I am hoping to do this in a couple years :goodvibes:

My family and I went last Early December on a Tuesday night. We did not expect the crowds that we encountered. It sold out. All of the Pop Warner kids were there. The parade was nice. The rides were hard to go on because of the long lines. The hot chocolate was hard to find. I agree with everyone else about the family picture-chaotic. I don't think we will spend the extra money next time. It was far easier to see and do things during the regular park hours. The snow falling during the Osborne Family Lights at MGM was wonderful at no additional charge. If you decide to go, I hope that you will have a better time.

We're opting out of doing MVMCP for our upcoming Dec. trip. We've got two young kids (1.5 and 4 in Dec.) and they go to bed at 7:30-8 p.m. I learned on our trip in April that it wasn't worth it to keep them up much later than that.

Instead, we're planning on doing the Dinner Package for the Candlelight Processional. The cost is roughly the same and the Candlelight Processional has a 5 p.m. show, so we can see the show, have a nice meal and get the kids to bed at a reasonable hour.

I think MVMCP sounds great though for when our kids are older!

This is a great thread as I was wondering the same thing. We are planning on going Dec 2 thru the 11 and I cannot decide if we will do the MVMCP or not. We do DL every Christmas so I have seen Snow on Main Street and special Christmas Parades...I just don't know.
5kWallace...we are going during Pop Warner week and I have posed the question regarding Pop Warner Crowds at MVMCP and had as of yet to get an answer so I am glad to read your post. I don't have a problem with the group but wanted to be prepared if they will be at the event en masse.

This will be our 3rd MVMCP, we love it. I love the 360 degree firework finale. I also like that the ride wait is very very minimal - most are walk right on. Also its really neat to get the free photo. Plus the characters are all decked out in the holiday attire so thats really neat too.

I was there that same night and didn't find it that bad. I got tickets a couple days before, it wasn't soldout then, I'm surprised to hear it soldout. We go there early and walked on rides in Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. Got our picture taken in Tomorrowland right after 6:00, waited about 10-15 minutes. Had hot chocolate and cookies before the fireworks, no line at the Tomorrowland Plaza. As I said earlier, it's all in the approach.

We've been to sold out Halloween and Christmas parties and never found the crowds to seem bad at all. The rides have always been walk-ons...BTMR even let us ride in a row without getting off because it was so empty at our last MVMCP (sold-out night).

I am a huge Christmas fan in addition to loving WDW. Walking down Main Street in the "snow", seeing the parade with all of the characters dressed for Christmas, getting pictures with the Christmas characters, all of the amazing decorations.....WONDERFUL! Can't wait to go again at that time of year! Next time we are renting a car so we can drive to all of the resorts to see the decorations. We went the second week of December that year and there were no crowds at all! I want to live in a town that is decorated like the Osborne Light display! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Think I liked it? :rotfl2:
