Is MM even worth it?

I agree - you want to be there early enough to be front of the line and make a beeline for PP ASAP. Here's the link to our video of our MM last year (and our two sons first EVER visit to DL) if you want to see how quiet it is in FL at 7am - you can hear the music and Snow White singing - so lovely - you'll only get that on an MM!

That video was awesome!! I had no idea how to get to PPF and was kinda nervous about finding it as our first day will be our MM day. It looks super easy to get to and Im feeling way less nervous about it now :)

Well when we have MM we use it, but since we've had AP's the last 2 years we really got out of the habit of using it. I've had it work great and I've had it turn out badly as well, it's hit or miss sometimes depending on how busy the parks/hotels are. If you have it I would use it for sure. :)

"If we don't cross before it gets to zero, we explode!" That's so precious! :rotfl:

Thank you for posting your video! I'm sitting on the couch with my laptop, and as I watched it I was doing a happy butt wiggle to all the wonderful sights and sounds.:love: I LOVE DL on an early MM! DH and I were 1st down Main Street a few years ago and it was surreal and amazing. All the details unobstructed by people and the park gleaming in the golden, early morning light. Perfect.

For years, we also felt like our MM's were invaluable on a multi-day trip. However, during our most recent 5 day trip a few weeks ago (7/5-7/9), it ended up being SUCH a waste of time.

We woke up at 4:30am (Ugh!). DH dropped me and our 4 kids off to get in line at the security tables while he went back to the hotel to have the in-laws follow him into the parking garage. Kids and I were in line at the security tables by 5:55am. Once let through (not until 6:50), we were able to be first in line at the gates.

We found the crowds to be about 3 times higher that morning than all 3 of the other non MM mornings we opened at DL (one morning we opened at DCA). By the time we made it to PP, the wait was already back to the chains, and it had only taken us about 4 minutes to walk back to FL from the gates.

So, it looks like MOST people have a great experience with their MM's. We always have too, in the past. But this one was SO extremely disappointing.

I hope yours goes great! :thumbsup2

Well, y'all have convinced me to give it a try. We have two possibilities during our trip, so I'll have to see how late the kids are up and gauge it from there.

Our boys are early risers, so it's nice to have the option to get going since first thing in the morning!!! We definitely recommend it!

The one time we had MM, we spent the whole time waiting in line for the submarines. Was not worth it to me.

Kayla's mom - thanks so much for the response regarding castle logistics! Based on the information here, our boys' lukewarm feelings about Pan, and their enthusiasm for the bobsleds, I think we might end up heading to the right of the castle. Thank you!

Saskiwi - great video! Love it!

Marcemc - Our boys are also early risers, so I think this is going to work out really well for us, too. And my husband enjoys the "sport" of morning EMH/rope drop at WDW, so I think MM will be fun for us!

I hear ya!! All my boys are so active (including hubby), nothing better that burning that high dose of testosterone early in the morning :lmao:

You will have tons of fun! Enjoy

and were on the first sub. MM worked out GREAT for us, even in crowded August. I was amazed! And it wasn't like we were waiting extra early for the monorail or anything. After Nemo, we we rode Matterhorn twice w/ no wait, got on most of the Fantasyland rides, were first on Autopia, and then got over to the other side of the park at "regular" opening for no wait on HM and POTC. We had an early lunch at Blue Bayou (11:30) and then back to the hotel for a break after gathering some Fastpasses. It was great -- can't wait to go to MM again in a few days!

Thanks to MM we actually got to ride Finding Nemo

What time were you in line for the monorail? When did it leave the station? I've had mixed experiences taking the monorail in . . .

We have had mixed experiences also, but have learned that if you take it first thing in the morning, (you should line up half an hour before the first one is schedule to leave) you should be ok.
