Trying to decide between theme park view and bay lake view for a room at the contemp. Oct.21st-26th. The only two nights they will have fireworks (because they don't do fireworks on MNSSHP nights) are Wed and Sat, which we plan to be in the park to see them Sat night and maybe dinner at the California Grill to see them on Wed. What is your opinion? Is the daytime view still worth the extra money?:confused3

They have fireworks for MNSSHP. They just aren't your normal Wishes. Its called Hallowishes and its our favorite. Yes its worth the price. When you open your curtains you get a great view of 7 seas lagoon, Poly, GF and MK. When on the balcony you can even hear the dog howling at MH. Love it Love it Love it. We were on the floor directly above the monorail and the girls would make a game of did the monorail just go through.

It's worth the price at ANY time of the day!! Enjoy. Grab some goodies and a drinkie-poo and watch the World go by.

Here is a photo of the Magic Kingdom view during the day and I happen to think it looks great during that time and during the night.

In a word - yes! The MK view there is the best out of all the Deluxes, IMHO! :)

It is so worth it. We really need to download our pictures. I have to say we loved the Contemporary and thoroughly enjoyed the MK view. We watched Wishes both nights from our balcony. :lovestruc

Thanks for everyone's input! After seeing all of your pictures I decided to go for it! My husband may kill me, but hey! It looks totally worth it! :woohoo:

I know you've already made up your mind, but in my opinion, I will chime in that it is definitely, absolutely worth it, anytime, every time. We were upgraded to a 9-day MK view room at CR on our first "real" trip to WDW and we still talk about it all the time. It is still the best vacation we ever took. Enjoy.

We also had the struggle between the water and the MK view...it was very difficult because the money is significant...and we chose the MK view. Needless to say, the pictures have me dreaming of September. :thumbsup2

You're welcome and I think you made the right decision. :thumbsup2

Have a great time. I would probably be the voice of going against an MK view but only because we had one and the ME busses kept waking me UP!!!!

That was not fun to be woken up at about oh...2 or 3 AM with an idling bus outside (yes, I'm a fairly light sleeper apparently as I was the only one in the room that noticed it). The first night I looked out to see what it was and then realized it was the ME bus (either that or a tour bus but it happened several days!).

View is great though! I got it before they charged extra for it in 2005.

What's a ME bus? I'm still new around here! ;)

Magical Express -- it's the transportation Disney offers to & from the airport.

Therefore it comes at all times because obviously flights come in & out of the airport at all times. I don't know all the details since we drove and ME was actually just starting when we went in 2005.

It was one of those things that I never in a million years would have even given a thought as being an issue. I know if it had just been a quick pull-in/drop-off I probably wouldn't have heard it but it sat there idiling. I think I looked the first day because I thought it was odd. It's not a normal location for the busses but then I saw luggage next to the bus (don't know if it was loading or unloading) and at first thought it was a tour group or something and then it dawned on me it was probably ME because I want to say it said Disney on the side but I can't remember for sure. There was something that made me think it. Then it happened again the next night and a few others.

As I said, no one else in the room was woken up by it so if you are a sound sleeper, it probably won't matter but for me afterward, I kept thinking "you know the Lake side might have been a better idea -- probably more peaceful." Just from a needing some sleep standpoint and I know for me, now that they charge extra for it, I wouldn't pay it because sleep would win out over view.
