Is MK crowded right up until midnight at Xmas?

MK will stay open till midnight each night during our December trip. Is it as crowded during those last few hours as it is during the day? On one hand, I can see some people with younger children leaving earlier in the evening, but I can also see other people leaving other parks after close and heading over to MK for the end of the evening. What has been the experience of those who have travelled over Christmas? Though we are Disney veterans, we are Christmastime newbies! We have only 3 days left on our hoppers for a six night stay and I am trying to get the most out of those 3 days!

The only time we were at MK during that time frame. Right up to closing we thought crowds might thin some late.Our experience was they didn't.Attraction lines were still huge and no fast pass then.That said we still got to do alot and had a great time bout didn't get back to our resort until 2:00 am.

Last year we were there Christmas day... and we went "home" (away from home) that evening and I, alone, went back to MK later that night while everyone else went to sleep. It was still crowded... very. Right up until closing- a MADHOUSE after the parade... let me tell you....
