Is MK a good idea on MNSSHP day?

Traditionally, we have done MK on our last day at Disney. This year, that day is August 28th, and I see that the Halloween party is scheduled for that day. I know the park closes at 6, but what are crowds like beforehand? We normally stay at the park until mid afternoon, leave and come back after dinner. With the closing time at 6, we would probably just stay for the entire day and do dinner after leaving.

We were going to do AK on Monday (27) and MK on Tuesday (28) but now I'm wondering if we should flip and NOT go to MK on Tuesday because of the early closing (we will also have another MK day during our trip)

WWYD?

Option 1 - keep with tradition AK on Monday (or Sunday) and MK on Tuesday
Option 2 - MK on Monday, AK on Tuesday
Option 3 - MK on Sunday, AK on Tuesday

Other ideas? I hope this makes sense!

According to what ive read and crowd calendars, MK is least busy on party nights and much busier on non-party nights during party weeks, so if you’re ok missing Happily Ever After, you may want to go on the party night and leave at 6 to do dinner elsewhere. We are doing 2 days in MK- 1 on a non-party night and one on a party night (although not attending the party) because we’ve never seen HEA. Supposedly you can get more done from 9-6 on a party day than 9-9 on a non-party day due to lower crowds!

In past trips, I have found party days to be less crowded. I think people just plan to be in other parks on those days. If you are not planning to see the firework show, “Happily ever after “, I would do option 1.

Also check Park opening times as well. Parks that open early sometimes have more crowds.

I was considering the same. I'm planning on having FP in another park for the evening and just winging it in MK for the first part of the day. Good to see that others have seen MK be less busy on party days.

We have always found Sundays where there is a Halloween Party to be fantastic days to visit MK. I can't speak to Tuesdays. We always hop to Epcot for Illuminations or HS for Fantasmic! afterward.
