Is Mickey's Morning Madness parade worth it?

Hi,

I am new to the site and have just purchased a Disney package for the end of April in DL. Costco Travel mentioned the mickey's morning madness in toontown, which is like a parade. Can anyone tell me more about this and if it is worth the time.

If it is like the one in Disneyland- you are the only ones in Toontown- and after the Mayor's morning celebration/parade thing- all the characters went to their respective houses or wandered around. Zero lines for character meet and greets before the crowds got there- so I would say if that is important to you then yes. The actual parade thing my kids didn't really care about (they sat in tables and watched from a small distance- but loved having longer attention from Mickey and friends.

It is very fun! And the waits to meet characters are not very long at all. Wonderful to be there when not so crowded. They pick a family (forgot what they call them) to go on stage. But it wasn't a parade when we went. Just a little show on the stage. I would go to Mickey's house first, then Minnie's. Those lines are the longest. And the photographers will take pics with your own camera as well.

OK, so this is about Disneyland. MTTMM (Mickeys ToonTown Morning Madness) gets you into ToonTown right at normal park opening. TT usually opens an hour after the park opens, so everyone who does not have a voucher for MTTMM will have to wait an hour.

There are only two rides in TT, but there are characters to see. The lines to see the characters are much shorter than they will be during the rest of the day. (on the other hand, if you go to TT at it's normal opening on a NON MTTMM day, you get just about the same effect)

The parade is more like the way the characters walk to get to where they need to be...they do have a little song and dance and an opening ceremony, and they'll choose a ToonTown Honorary Family of the Day who will be introduced and get a scroll with their last name on it. (I have one on my fridge) Other than that, it's just a way to get into TT before the rest of the early morning hordes get in!

If you decide you do NOT want to take part in it, there's an ongoing thread on the Disneyland forum here to send your vouchers to those who do not have the package deals but DO want to take part in MTTMM. Just a little "send it forward" type of thing we have going on over there.
