Is Mickey's Backyard BBQ worth 2 TS dining credits?

It sounds like something my family would enjoy, but I'm starting to wonder if it is worth 2 credits. Particularly if my youngest gets bored and considering my kids will probably eat little more than a Mickey bar. DH and I would enjoy the AYCE beer and ribs though!

I'm doing a lot of last minute ADR changes (and having a fairly easy time with it too!) So I'm trying to decide if we really want to use 2 credits on this. We're already using 2 on Brown Derby/Fantasmic and 2 on CRT.

Thanks!

Meg

Anyone? I'm trying to decide this morning so I can get these ADR's squared away because the kids are sick of mommy being "on the phone with Mickey." :)

Our family (DW, DD8 and I) attended on 9/11/07. I'm very glad we did. DD was picked to participate in the "cowboy wedding ring" lasso trick and she was rewarded with a show picture and a rope. We'll be back. Other opinions are at http://www.allearsnet.com/din/rev_bbq.htm.

Not something I will ever do again...Me, DH, DD, DSIL and 2 1/2 GD were there in Sept. Something I always wanted to do. Not what I expected it to be. Ribs great. We left early. Depends on the ages of your kids...and if they like to get up and dance...to me it was not worth 2 TS. Probably the HDDR is better for the AYCE beer and ribs/chicken etc...but I am not into that type of entertainment.

We have done the BBQ, and didn't think it worth 2 credits. Food was fine, but nothing special, and as for drinks, you can have beer or wine, but it lacks the sangria offered at the Hoop-tee-doo.

When you book, you will have to give a credit card, and I suggest that if you really want to eat at the BBQ, you just pay for the meal out of pocket. It is $39 for adults and $25 for kids, which includes you tax and tip.

From a cost perspective, you can get a much nicer meal for only 1 Table Service at many on site restaurants.

We loved it and even my oldest who barely eats anything, found something to eat (cake and watermelon) The food, while limited in the variety, was delicious. The entertainment was great and the aycd beverages were great for us when all we had to do was walk back to our site!
None of our children got bored and they had done it when they were 1,3,5,7 and again at 3,5,7,9. They enjoyed the party atmosphere.

Definitely not worth 2 credits, as the pp said if it is something you want to do, pay OOP. We found it chaotic and very disappointing. Food was good, but long lines and a crowded dance floor with families monopolizing the characters, pushing their kids to dance with them. :confused3 We left after about an hour. Not much fun at all.
Save your credits for HDDR:)
Have a great trip:wizard:

I agree with you. We'll never do this again. The food was good, but it was so chaotic my DD was pushed by some adult who was trying to get her own DD closer to the characters.

My DGD got pushed and that was it for her. She ate and had her Ice Pop and then went out to play tag with some other kids. Way too chaotic for her. I took pictures for her, we went to the playscape for a while an then left. All I kept thinking was that we left EPCOT for this?????

Oh, yes, agree with posters about little ones being stepped on and pushed. DGD is very petite for her age, and she was getting so upset with all the pushing and aggressive people. She didn't understand that the characters don't spend time with just YOU...and she wanted to leave. I really feel sorry for those characters too...this is the one time they do not have a CM with them guiding them and making sure no one knocks them down, and that they don't step on someone. I don't know how they do it....they are just up there free dancing with all of these kids...bedlam...

Also agree about the wine...I thought it would be sangria like at HDDR...but it wasn't....just inexpensive white, rose and red....

I deffinately agree! Deffinately not worth 2 TS credits! The food was just so so IMO and everything else was fun...but we have older kids.
