A coworker told me it was now as of their trip a few months ago?

My other coworker is going to MGM in November and trying to plan out her week.

Thanks.

Someone lied to you, disney parks and resorts are open everyday, unless of a major hurricane.

Uh, no. :rolleyes1 :joker:

You can always refer to the official WDW web site on the calendar section. All the hours are posted months in advance. It's great to plan ahead before you go and know what the hours of each park are.

I totally cannot believe what people will think of next. Do they think Disney is stupid? Don't answer that. If there's money to be made, Disney is at the forefront. Absolutely no way would they close an entire park for a day. The only time they have done so, is if the park has filled to capacity (and that's not closed if you got inside) or there is a severe hurricane threat.

So positively not, nope, nada closed on Wednesday. Come and enjoy! :teeth:

I didn't think she knew what she was talking about because I knew I would have read that on these boards. I have no idea what she could have been referring to anyway.

Thanks everyone :)

Well, I have to say "Yes" to this.
Its not a happy thought, but its true.
MGM is closed every Wednesday.

Its closed somewhere between 6:30pm and 9pm, usually at about the start time of Fantasmic!

And this park closing happens virtually every day of the week.
Every park at WDW is subject to this sad fact.

The bright spot is that they close the parks 3 hours later for WDW on-property resort guests on PM EMH nights.

;)

Robo, how is it that every time I see your name I can be pretty sure the reply is going to be some goofy twist on reality? ;) :teeth:

You're right, of course, about the rash of park closings. When, oh when, will Disney learn they can make money all night if they just remained open?

Oh, wait....they do that during the holidays, don't they.

This post reminded me of some rumors - I may be remembering this all wrong, so forgive me! But right after 9/11, attendance was so low at Disney that weren't there rumors of parks being closed certain days of the week to save money? I think the water parks may have done this at one point, but not the big theme parks? I may be totally wrong on this, but this post reminded me of those 9/11 cost-cutting rumors! But the OP's coworker sounds like she is talking from recent experience so probably not what she is referring to! :scratchin

I know sometimes MGM will close slightly early due to private parties, but still be open during the day! :)

I can't think of anything in Walt Disney World that is closed on any day of the week.

Enjoy.

There maybe some shows that have off days. Beauty and the Beast used to, not sure if they still do.

There is the rare occasion when a park will be closed for a special event, but these times are few and far between, and usually just for an evening.:earsboy:
