is merriest nights coming back???

My hope is it doesn't come back. Was a big fail from our experience. We're booked to visit Disneyland again, for 3 nights from November 10th. If "Merriest" returns, I hope it will be after that because I wouldn't book it again.

I was bummed that I didn’t go last year but maybe that’s a good thing! What didn’t you like about it??

We found everything very difficult to, well, find. Especially food, which was highly touted as being special for the Merriest Nites. Photo ops didn't seem plentiful, except at the entrance. We're not Muppet or parade fans so, that might have meant something to some but, nothing to us. We did catch the parade in passing but, from what I understand, it's the same parade as regular nights.

Cast Members had clearly been thrown in at the deep end. This was a new event for Disneyland and, to be fair, it was the first of the Nites so, confusion reigned. All of our requests for guidance as to the food, the photos, the "events" were met with "not sure" shrugs and few answers.

It was nice to have less crowds for rides but, really, that's an option on any regular late-night at Disneyland. We already had our park tickets for that day so, getting into the park for the Nite was already paid for. If it cost, I don't know, maybe $59-79 pp, we might consider it again but, no, who am I kidding. Definitely wouldn't do it again. It just didn't seem that Merry or special. Disorganized, disappointing and very over-priced. Regular DL at Christmas is more than Merry enough for us!

I DO love a less crowded park but that is definitely not enough of a draw especially at the price point. I remember the tickets being noticeably pricier than OBB. I am a huge fan of Oogie Boogie so I thought Merriest Nights would live up to the hype. Womp Womp! Thank you for sharing. I will save my hard earned $$$ should the party return...which is looking like less of a possibility!

I think part of the problem is that the CM's weren't trained enough and as it was the first party of it's kind it was a let down.
I think if they were to do it again it could be a HUGE success, it just needs to be done right.

The Party at MK at WDW is amazing, no reason why DL can't have the same success.

It was also around the time when another Covid surge was happening and many cast members were sick and calling out. So other members who were there were being pulled to locations that they weren’t familiar with.

I agree. I've heard a lot about the MK ones and they sound amazing. If they DO come back to DL, I'll definitely wait for reviews before laying down hundreds of $ though.

Would love to OBB bash, to experience a "real" DL event, some day. Unfortunately, we're very, very lucky to be able to go once every one or two years but, it's generally always early November.

Well, from what I've heard, I'm afraid it's not going to happen this year. Here's the proof: To be honest, even though what they did is very festive, but in my opinion, I think it's for the best. I mean, private Halloween party at DCA is fine, but I don't think Disneyland needs another private Christmas Party. They're fine as it is. But of course, like I said, it's my opinion.

My husband and I went to one of the Merriest Nites last year.
I think the two standouts were the Muppet carol show and all the music artists! I like how they chose specific artists for the different lands.
I thought the park would be a lot more empty but it really wasn't. Peter Pan was still 40 minutes, Haunted Mansion Holiday was also 30+ minutes, and there was so much to do but so little time. We got one food item that was exclusive and it was just okay and didn't even bother with the lineups for the photo ops.
The postcards they gave us on our way out were cute, but it was definitely not worth the ticket price.
