Is Memory Maker worth the cost?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but I wasn't able to find it in a search. If you have used Memory Maker in the past, do you feel it was worth the money? We've never used Photopass at all, but are considering it for our upcoming trip. I would like to avoid bringing my DSLR and am wondering if Memory Maker, combined with iPhone pics and possibly those from a small point & shoot, would give us a decent photo representation of our trip. I realize it won't be the same as taking all the pictures myself, but I'd like to spend less time behind the camera and just enjoy this trip.

EDITED TO ADD: We will have several character meals, but will not be doing any character M&G's, with the exception of possibly Star Wars characters in HS. We are going for 7 days.

If you're there for for more than just a couple days, I think it is worth it. My family stopped frequently whenever we saw a Photopass Photographer and took advantage of it though. We ended up with hundreds of photos in a week. The ride photos are an added perk as well.

We use memory maker anytime we are there for a few days or more. We always end up with
A few hundred pictures and now you can get videos and special pictures on some rides and at different locations.
We went for one day only at Halloween and did not get memory maker only to find single pictures to download are 14.95 each which can quickly add up. I still take pictures but most of our favorite pictures that include our whole group are from memory maker and the kids love the ride pics.

I always get the Memory Maker. I sometimes go solo, and sometimes with a group, so it's nice to know I'll have pictures either way! I also love the magic shots, and the 'action' pictures when I'm meeting Characters.

I believe I read on here somewhere that the "break even" point is if you would purchase 10 pictures. Especially if you do a lot of character pictures, I'd think it definitely would be - especially since there is often interaction before (and sometimes after) the posed picture(s) that is as cute if not cuter than the posed pictures that gets captured by the photographer. (Last year during Marathon Weekend, the Great Goofini decided to try and run away with me, and the photographer got a lot of those pictures - I was sorry I hadn't bought MM when I saw them all.) I know I'm planning on lots of M&Gs on my upcoming solo trip, so I bought it.

If you Wil take the time to ask folks to take a picture for you, I think you'd be good. I do love the tons of pictures I have with our entire family but am not sure if I am going to buy that package again.

I am considering this and wonder what people thought of the value for just 2 park days. One of the days there is a very good chance of rain in the afternoon. We have character meals the other 2 days but I know those are in pre meal pics. Do they take pictures at ESPN WWOS?

Thank you

does anyone know how the one day memory maker works? i mean how long is the window open after the first picture? and does the first picture get included? if i did it and then later that night had photo pass photos taken at an event over at contemporary would they also be included?

I would never pay full price for it, but I have been in some MM shares and it's always worked out great.

I would not buy it if you don't plan to meet characters. Those were our best pictures from the last trip.

If you want ride photos, it is well worth getting as rides such as Seven Dwarves Mine Train and Tower of Terror also give a video of your ride. Add the special photos that you can ask for from the Disney Photopass photographers and it was a fantastic reminder of our last trip.
However I would not wish to have to purchase this every trip and would probably wait a few years before repeating.
Loved my pictures that I got and created a really great photo book from them.

For us, yes. I don't have a real camera, just a phone. And I don't take good pictures anyway. We had to do Rider Swap, so we'd have a lot of ride photos split up, and otherwise I'd be in no pictures.

It was worth it to us. Even if you don't do character meets but want special shots from around the parks, you can make nice albums

Yes it was worth it for my family . There a lot of photo options around the park that take memory maker is useful Photo booths in epcot. And my daughter's went to the boutique in Magic kingdom and had extra photos taken that at the store in the backside of the castle that was only included if you had memory maker. Also you get a video of yourself on the mine train. You have 30 days from your last photo to download them on a CD.
