Is MCO really as confusing as the website makes it look????

I have never flown into Orlando but am this December. I like to check out the different airports so that I have an idea of where I'm going. But boy this website sure makes it look difficult to get around...hope it really isn't THAT confusing!!!!

It's not confusing at all. The signage is excellent - everything is very clearly marked...and there are so many people heading the same place you are - baggage claim - that I usually just follow the crowd!

Actually, I didn't find it as confusing as Atlanta airport. And two, it's easy just to follow the crowd when you get off the plane, because everyone has to go get thier luggage.

Personally, I think MCO is one of the best airports in the country. Very well designed and very easy to move around in. You will be fine...

I completely agree with SGT DISNEY, it is a snap and if you should run into a problem, there are plenty of friendly people to help you out. I think it looks confusing because there are trying to get three levels into one picture. Just remeber to keep looking UP for the signs.

I also have to agree with Gail and sgtdisney! MCO has got to be one of the easiest to get around in with signs everywhere! We have always flown out of Toronto International and boy is that confusing at times! But we love Orlando airport....don't worry Chris you'll do just great!

Orlando is one of the easiest,cleanest, well designed, etc to get around in. It is very people friendly.

I will agree that the first timer can get confused after getting to baggage claim - how baggage claim and the rental car desks are on different levels, and that some of the escalators actually go from one level to another and skip the level in between. Then one would go down to yet another level to take the tunnel under the roadway.

I agree with the others - keep your eyes on the signs and all should be OK, particularly when moving from one level to another.

You will land at Orlando at a hub and walk a short distance to a monorail that will take you closer to the baggae claim area. I always try this website to get the layout of the airport I am flying to. I have flown to Phoenix, Chicago O Hare, Dallas Fort Worth, Boston, JFK, Atlanta. Atlanta was the worst if you are pressed for time and don't understand the layout. I think you will be fine at Orlando without a map but check this site.Good Luck!

Chris, you will be suprised at how easy getting around MCO is!!! And like other posters say, it's so clean and friendly!

We flew into MCO for the first time in April. I found it VERY confusing!! We did follow everyone toward the baggage claim which was where our friend who was picking us up met us. We followed him, but I have no idea how and where he was going. I even remarked that thank goodness we had him with us, or I would have been lost.

When we flew out of MCO at the end of our vacation, we arrived VERY early in the morning and the place was packed. It took me WAY TOO LONG to find the USAir counters (they are all the way at one end) and the maps were not helpful to me.

I'm usually very good with directions and new places....

Maybe I'll have better luck this time!

The signs are excellent, but, you need to look up to see them.
All the terminals are clearly marked outside. If you enter in the door for Delta, you are going to have a long walk to your terminal if you are not using Delta. Just read the signs and you will be fine. It is, without a doubt, one of the most user friendly airports ever.

LOL Gail!!! It was 4am, and I was half asleep... It was all I could do to keep walking dragging my suitcases. We entered the airport at the Rental Car return... I followed the signs to the
counters, but like I said, USAir was out of sight.... After that, I just followed everybody else and the signage was easy after security.

Chris, MCO is a piece of cake compared to ORD! You'll have no problem! And, it really is very clean and well-marked and really, just a nice place to be! (See ya there!)

I was just beginning to stress a little about this very thing as we are arriving in the evening and I want to get to WDW before dark.

I don't want to spend time lost in the airport. However, I am now very confident that MCO will be a snap! If you all are right and this airport makes Atlanta seem confusing............I find the Atlanta airport very easy to find my way in so I should have no problem in Orlando!!

Atlanta is huge but not confusing...........for confusing go to Detroit or Dallas. YUCK!!

The first time, DH and I found MCO to be confusing and not very convenient.
After that first time, like anything else it was much easier.
